Zero is coming...

The question is:
1) Did Julia have forward knowledge of the car plant closures.
2) Did that influence her decision to sell??

Here's some proof regarding my other post when I was referencing prices being $150k for house and land packages back then. 600k now apparently - well out of reach. In 15 years time will that be worth 2.5mil? :lol
well you laughed at shadows prediction of 1 mil for sydney, and now you lot are shitting a brick that it looks possible.

True, but people have hope.
Now that hope appears to be removed.
Did that effect the sale price of Julia's house and did she have forward notice that was not known by others that is the question.
This is a question not a statement.

But in real terms??
I know that $1m does not buy what it used to.
So there is a continuous debasement of the money.
$1m is worth about $100,000 in 1990 money from where i am sitting.

inflation has been below trend for a few years now, so in real and nominal terms housing is moving up in price because wages have also increased faster than inflation.

Bloody Hell I would have thought the house would have been worth less than market due to its history.

It's a very patchy market in Melbourne at the moment.

Juliar has certainly made a motza out of her lies.

Anti big Australia? Pffft. Sitting idly by whilst the Chinese run rampant buying up our properties.

Awful PM.

I'm getting a brass plaque made up that says 'Julia Gillard Slept Here" just in case I want to sell my house. Perhaps I should get a Tony Abbot one made up as well just in case.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis.
