You would be in a position to know, what with your talk of blue chip, prestige and what not from the lofty heights of your empire there in... where is it again, 5th Avenue?
Haha.

It doesn't matter where the majority of my rentals are, my tenants live there not I.
And it doesn't matter where I live either - my point still stands...

Here in Brisbane Town, all kinds of people are paying a lot of money to live in a "prestigious suburb" It makes a grown man cry friend.

The only grown man who would cry about the cost of living in a prestigious suburb is a pwetentious twat wannabe.

People who can "actually" afford prestige don't care.

And I base that comment on one couple in particular we know who are wealthy enough to buy a unit on Sydney waterfront one year with the xmas bonus, a Gold Coast sub penthouse another year and this year they are looking at Hamilton Island with a marina berth.
He, with his job (construction and engineering), spends considerable amounts of time in New York , San Francisco and Texas and she always comes back with some Tiffanies bauble (my wife pisses her off by getting near identical trinket's made in Hoi An for a few $) so I would have to assume they are aware of the price comparisons of property here vs there, yet it is here where they buy property.
I also base it on several others who are able to do similar, but not in such a grand scale.

I also base it on several others I personally know and some who give the impression here that seem to watch too much "Lifestyles of the rich and famous" and "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and in their deluded mind think that they deserve to be living the same way on far less substantial coinage.
One couple in particular are about to be burned in a biiiig way
"Fiddy Cent" Wannabes living it large on (what was) a trumped up tradies wage

And the fact that you are crying about it says to me that...........

Friend, is that an insult? Are you insulting me? I don't find typing easy at all because I haven't used a typewriter for some decades and find it easier to use a microphone.
Well you should have said that in your intro and I wouldn't have insulted you, yes I was insulting you. To post tube clips you obviously know your way around the internet and would know that spammers and people trying to build cred on there youtube accounts abound and are a real pest.

Perhaps you are dislexic? But I doubt it. And since everyone else here seems to hate you I will let my earlier comments stand.

Wow, friend, so you're a landlord?

Wow, friend, so y'all have friends who are wealthy and buy property with Xmas bonuses? Interesting, I don't know anyone like that.

Can y'all stick to the topic. What are the ultimate positional goods? Being in the right suburb, or, like you, crowing about your properties and your friends (who aint you, by the way).

Friend, I don't understand. Why are you being so insulting?

What do y'all think? When there's nothing else to fight over except "Status", and everyones got a full belly, a big screen television and the use of the internet in a portable computer that fits in their hand or bag, and everyone has two cars, the only thing to fight over is suburb status.

I don't know what them fine tradesman and Short Sleeve Professionals (teachers, gubmint workers etc) think, but I get the feeling that they prefer "landlord" status over "suburb" status.

One ("LL") pays me wads of cash every week
One (if I chose the pwetentious twat "suburb status" path) would cost me wads of cash every week.

I'll take the first option thanks

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis.
