Just one more step on the road to fascism.

Good news for stinkbug though, no doubt he will be called up to work on Orwell 2.0
:lol

Australia punished Labor yesterday, as they should.

It could well be good news for me professionally, though. But not in the sense of working on anything highly classified. Come February I suspect I'll have more work than I can handle. :oo:

Carbon Tax ... Gone.

NBN ... Gone.

Culture that encourages Whiners ... Gone.

And MOST importantly, a Government that will be judged by its DEEDS, NOT its WORDS !!! (Mopsy's Anal Spincter just quivered).

TONY, TONY, TONY, TONY

May be ghost of BA Santamaria guide our PM and help him eradicate the 5th Column in our midst that seeks to ruin our society.

PS : A warning to the Bears. Now that a new wave of conservatism is going to wash through Aus, you need to shut the hell up with your whining about prices. The only way you will ever get a house is to work hard and save and pay the premium the market demands, Tony EXPECTS nothing less.

Tory Tony. The job loss thread should get lively for a while starting with contractors and workers assosciated with NBN.

I used to worry about Tony taking a big knife to spending and causing a recession. I'm less concerned now.

PS he is a Rhodes scholar with a degree in economics. Perhaps he is a little rusty, but the bones are there.

Any expressed market opinion is my own and is not to be taken as financial advice

Degrees in economics aren't much good for understanding modern economies and markets (I know, I have one). The only way to gain true knowledge is to be a practioneer (and I'm not confident that being a politician is sufficient practice).

in the event the NBN is scrapped, areas with the NBN already in place like Townsville would be at a relative advantage.

Does this mean their values could end up higher than they otherwise would have been soon?
APF - a place where serious people don't take themselves too seriously. There's nothing else like it.

Yes, remember when Howard let Capitalism work, we had the Greatest Housing Boom in Australian history.

See http://www.alexhawke.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=347:wireless-threat-to-national-broadband-network&catid=49:news&Itemid=268
The greatest housing boom in Australian History did commence during the Howard era - but Shadow, Strindberg and a host of other bulls on this site claim prices have merely tracked average incomes over the same period.

Which one is it property investors? Was it the greatest boom in Australian History or not?

Those two viewpoints cannot co-exist.

Why would it upset me? I'm not a lefty, but a moderate. It is obviously hard for you to understand that the world exists in shades of grey and not black and white.

Instead of avoiding my questions, throw a couple of answers at us. Come on!

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis. Topics unsuitable for the main forum may be discussed in the lounge. No spamming or advertising in the main forum. Spamming includes repeating the same message over and over again within a short period of time. Don't post ALL CAPS thread titles. The Advertising and Promotion Subforum may be used to promote your Australian property related business or service. Active members of the forum who contribute regularly to main forum discussions may also include a link to their product or service in their signature block. Members are limited to one actively posting account each. A secondary account may be used solely for the purpose of maintaining a blog as long as that account no longer posts in threads.
