Interesting quote from Rudd, "I don't believe I can do much for younger people".
Well I guess that probably seems to sum up what's going to happen for younger people like myself trying to get into the housing market. Don't get me wrong, we shouldn't be allowed to access super for a deposit as that would only just pump in more money into the market making housing more unaffordable but still I just couldn't believe it when he just admitted that younger people are being put out to dry so to speak.

At least he admitted it, I'll give him some points for that. Because for damn sure neither of them will.

I think it would have been a preferable situation than FHBG's. There is incentive to sacrifice some earnings to super to help build up a deposit, maybe even a little incentive to better oneself for a higher paying job (slim I now but even a small number trying would not be bad) No drain on the public purse.
We will never know for sure if it would have been better or not.
