I think it is more like an intravenous drip. It keeps the circulation going and stops the patient from dying without addressing the actual illness.
With luck, the patient will get better by itself or the doctor who has the appropriate treatment (Congress/executive with appropriate fiscal policy) will show up and administer aid.
I think it's more like painkillers. Doctor keeps upping the dose until you eventually die because he diagnosed you with pain instead of cancer.
a doctor is free to write as many prescriptions as he/she wants...
whether the pharmacist has enough in stock is another issue altogether ...
I'd kind of gotten the impression the doctor (central bank) printed the painkillers as well as prescribed them these days; With the pharmacist (bank) just doling them out?

The medicine is full use of productive capacity. The prescription is money. Prescriptions are unlimited. Medicine is not.

Yes that's better! Much better to talk about analogies to medications and doctors than problems we face in the real world. Contemplating the collapse and abandonment of the global reserve currency is not something I like to do on Fridays. Fridays are for living in the now, in the weekend, where the next few decades can take care of themselves.
Shadow was hopelessly wrong about the Gold Bull Market. What else is he wrong about?

There is no such thing as a reseve currency. Bretton woods was abandoned 40 years ago.
In the meantime, the patient's family is worried sick because they variously fear that:
a) The world will run out of salt and water to make saline drips; or
b) The patient will explode from all that saline drip despite the fact that its blood pressure is stable and low and the patient has not gained weight.
or both.
You sure? Looks about twenty % heavier to me.
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'
Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
