The NSW ALP today installed Ernest Wong into the upper house.

NSW Labor Leader says he is a very well connected fundraiser from Strathfeild Council.

His installation has caused considerable distresses and revolt within the party ranks.

How long will the turmoil continue in NSW?

HE'S NSW Labor's newest recruit and touted as a chance for the party to renew its image, but Ernest Wong has already been accused of being tied to disgraced former powerbroker Eddie Obeid.
Mr Wong was sworn into the upper house yesterday to take the seat of former treasurer Eric Roozendaal, who resigned earlier this month.
Mr Wong, a prominent member of the Chinese community and Deputy Mayor of Burwood Council, was allegedly recruited to the party by Mr Obeid while he was a member of the Unity Party. An allegation which he denies.

Peter Wong, the former Unity Party upper house MP, who was close to Mr Wong, told The Daily Telegraph that Ernest Wong was involved in a number of meetings with Mr Obeid and recruited to Labor right faction. Mr Wong denied the connection between him and Eddie Obeid: "I joined the Labor Party because I was inspired by then premier Bob Carr and Labor's strong stance against racism and Pauline Hanson.

He accused Peter Wong of "living in a fantasy land".
"I've met him (Mr Obeid) but we were certainly never close. Like the rest of the community, I am shocked and appalled at what is currently unfolding before the ICAC."
The Daily Telegraph revealed on Wednesday that Mr Wong has had his own office in Labor headquarters for the past two years because he is such a prodigious fundraiser.
Opposition Leader John Robertson welcomed Mr Wong into the upper house yesterday. On announcing Mr Wong's new position, Mr Robertson said he was "a champion for both the Australian Chinese community and the people of Burwood"........"

Can you imagine that this guy ever did a days work?

Workers party indeed!

I wonder what union was forced to take this capitalist on board to give the Parliamentary wing of the ALP the appearance of some credibility?

I guess that if the cleptocracy of Communist China can get away with it, why wouldnt the socialist party in NSW be full of 'representatives' who have never done a days labour.

"Comrades!" he cried. "You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for YOUR sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty?

Hmmm Animal Farm?

If it weren't for the NBN Labor would be branded the Australian Mafia.

There's a guy who likes his Mongolian Lamb.

New Labor MP 'linked to Eddie Obeid'
AAP
May 24, 2013 12:19PM

NSW Opposition Leader John Robertson is being asked to explain why Labor has recruited a man with reported links to Eddie Obeid.
Chinese businessman Ernest Wong was sworn into the upper house this week, taking the seat of former treasurer Eric Roozendaal.
He was recruited from the Unity Party into the ALP's right faction by former Labor powerbroker Eddie Obeid, according to News Ltd.
Mr Obeid and his family are the subject of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)'s largest ever investigation.
It's also been reported that Mr Wong - a prominent member of the Chinese community and deputy mayor of Burwood Council - was a prodigious fundraiser who had his own office in Labor Head Office.

Special Minister of State Chris Hartcher said Mr Wong's appointment was proof that Mr Obeid was still calling the shots in the Labor Party.

Mr Roozendaal quit parliament earlier this month, citing the bruising impact of an investigation by ICAC into claims he received a $10,000-plus discount on a Honda car in return for political favours for his former colleague, Mr Obeid......
