My Computer has got it in its head to start scrolling the page whilst I am trying to read a page...
Be it here or The Age etc, whilst trying to scroll down and read something the screen will scroll of its on accord, often in defiance of what I am trying to do with the scroll mouse..
Running XP Pro and a Logitech M215 wireless mouse...
Thanks in advance...

Have you got a spare wired mouse to try?
Maybe just change the batteries in the wireless?

I do not have a wired mouse to try, just another M215 wireless for the laptop.
Have replaced the battery, removed and refit the receiver unit from the USB slot to reinstall mouse..
Tried the mouse and receiver from the laptop.. same thing happens with the different mouse..
Does not do it on the laptop (running Win7).
If it did it on both I would get a new mouse and be done with it, the fact it works fine on one and not the other is weird..

Go down to BigW, buy a crappy $5 mouse, plug it in, then uninstall and reinstall the software.
That's my best suggestion, but there could be better ways. Dunno.

*Reboot *Try mashing the keyboard briskly. Especially all the control, alt and arrow keys. Also ensure you don't have anything like scroll lock turned on. *Press and click the middle mouse/scroll wheel a few times. *Turn off 'Click Lock' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCLo1bEQbiY *plug USB receiver in to different port. *Ensure you don't have anything plugged in to an onboard com port (some older laptops still have those) or a USB adaptor emulating COM1 port. *Test all buttons in a word document and see if anything sticks or presses itself multiple times (especially the arrow buttons). *Try plugging in a USB keyboard *Create a bootable USB or CD image using ubuntu or something similar to see if behaviour occurs inside a different OS. (I think you said you've got dual boot Win7 so don't bother with this step if you have) *Ensure you have no virus bugs within XP *Remove laptop keypad, check ribbon connector cable, clean where possible with compressed air then reconnect.
I'll get another mouse later today and see how that goes...

Keyboard is a USB one.
Has not done it in Word yet.
Running Trend Micro and no bugs detected..
Laptop does not seem to suffer the same issue with either mouse...

Well then it's probably not the mice. I thought the problem was with a laptop but sounds like a pc. So you have a PC running XP and a laptop running Win7? Have you tried plugging the keyboard in to the laptop to eliminate that as the problem? Did you try the 'Click lock' setting? Does it do the same thing in another browser app?
Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
