Do you actually disagree with any of the points raised?
How about we simply examine the first line in this bit of heartless propaganda?
Do you really think its just a handfull of dissatisfied catholics egging on the media?
I can inform you that many non catholic children were raped by clergy and laity in orphanages run by the catholic church (shit the fuckers even carried out medical experiments on children in Australia long after Nuremberg) on behalf of the State.
I can't say I've ever seen anything about using children as lab rats on the front page of any Catholic propaganda peice, have you?
Wow, just checking the material alleged by that article to say that it is wrong that the church has not done anything to adress paedophilia, and what do I find?
" 81. Priests should reflect on the advice of the Council,[134] which reminds them of their common sharing in the priesthood so that they may feel a lively responsibility for fellow priests troubled by difficulties which gravely endanger the divine gift they have[celibacy]. They should have a burning charity for those who have greater need of love, understanding and prayer, who have need of prudent but effective help, and who have a claim on their unbounded charity as those who are, and should be, their truest friends."
So once again we see the boys club protecting itself.
Do you think "prudent but effective help" included criminal investigation and sanction.
Shame these heartless scum didn't see child rape victims as "having a claim on their unbounded charity".
I would suggest that you'd have to be a catholic ' journalist' to read anything positive in that passage!
So the risk of paedophilia is against "the devine gift"?
Hey, I'm not for a second defending pedophiles, or the church for covering such things up, but I do think that there are plenty of issues with pedophiles outside the church. I am suggesting that when we engage in such a debate, or any investigation, we should be sticking to facts for the sake of all involved, especially the victims.

The churches (not just the catholics) really need a good going over.
Put aside the money they recieve to run education, and think about how much they get to run the child welfare system.
They have long argued that the only roll for the State its as a provider of funds, and that all child welfare should be provided by faith based services providers.
They assume the moral high ground to prosecute this goal and say they are child welfare experts, and yet when they are questioned over paedophilia they have three responses,:
1. but we are only amateur volunteers and really don't know how to handle this stuff, 2. look over there, children are sexually assaulted at home! 3. you are attacking the church!
I maintain that there is no legitimate roll for churches in the child welfare sector.
WHAT WOULD EDDIE DO? MAAAATE! Share a cot with Milton?

The article was NOT defending sexual crimes against children at all.
It was attempting to communicate that the Catholic church knows it has a serious problem here, that it is taking steps to try to fix things and tried to dispel some of the myths that have formed due to Anti Christians.
Aspersions from Mopsy and Earthy that I am a Pedo or support such degenerate behavior are to be expected from these two. I refute both of these aspersions.
Mopsy's will ALWAYS attack Christians, that is a given. And he will always attack me because I outed him as a White Supremacist wannabe who is extremely frustrated because his Jewish heritage makes it difficult for him to fore fill that role.
As for Earthy, well how unfortunate can life be. Stupid and bitter because his Ex cleaned his clock, now he attempts to satisfy his need for self validation via this forum.
And as for ExGolly statement 'I maintain that there is no legitimate roll for churches in the child welfare sector.'
What about children in 3rd world countries where the state would let them starve to death. You realize that the Catholic church is supporting MILLIONS of children in the 3rd world.
I maintain that the Catholic church is on balance doing far more good towards Human civilization than most Governments.
I can't wait for the next Federal election for then Australia will be ruled by a Catholic.

If it wasn't trying to defend, then why open with the line that this thing is all a beat up by the media and a handful of disgruntled catholics?
The Catholic Church- to big to care? The whole article is a classic strawman design just to harp on about the Catholic worlds fetish with celibacy.
Priests fucking children, and all you lot want to do is argue about celibacy? WTF?
Catholics are crazy!
Do you all still believe that clever sculpters carved all of those "fossils" and buried them in the rocks in an attempt to confuse Catholics?
And celibacy its so central to the church because that profligate mad rooter Augustine invented the idea to justify the abandonment of his responsibilities for his bastard child!
Imagine all the child endowment owed by the church!
Sheesh, what a mess of confused thoughts and hidden agendas this religious business is:bl:
