The original expectation was that Trans-Tasman movement would result in an even two-way flow. But by the 1990s it was obvious that is was largely one way, with the number of New Zealand citizens living in Australia dwarfing the number of Australian citizens in New Zealand.
Quote:
Also, by this time about a third of the New Zealand citizens arriving in Australia were from third world countries who had gained New Zealand citizenship after the required three years of residence (now five years). As the New Zealand migration rules were less strict than those applying in Australia it was thought that this was a form of “back door” entry.
NZ has a housing ponzi scheme too, actively being propped up and exacerbated by their government. Just let it crash and start again.
stinkbug omosessuale Frank Castle is a liar and a criminal. He will often deliberately take people out of context and use straw man arguments. Frank finally and unintentionally gives it up and admits he got where he is, primarily via dumb luck! See here Property will be 50-70% off by 2016.

NZ need a kick up the pants for abusing this agreement and also the free trade agreement - currently, Kiwi fruit grown in China and treated with chemicals banned in Australia are being repackaged in NZ and shipped to Australia as "Produce of NZ". That said NZ are like our cousins and I would prefer GENUINE Kiwi immigrants to immigrants from any other country.

Seems entirely possible. Plenty of rice is grown in china and labelled "product of Australia" or some such because they ship it here in bulk, polish it, then pack. Makes it hard to determine where the arsenic originates from.

Yeah, and I can't stand all the tricks used to try to fool people about the source of food.

If in fact this is true, all hell will break loose. People will go to jail in NZ and AQIS will block all NZ fruit imports....
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off. --Gloria Steinem AREPS™
Yeah, and I can't stand all the tricks used to try to fool people about the source of food.
But you love all the tricks to get people into massive debt.
If you want to be a moral person you can't just pick and choose when and where you are moral.
Idiot.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash.
