Saw this Video last night about ship breakers in India.
Incredibly hard workers cheating death daily for $0.49c an hour in conditions Australians just couldn't or wouldn't work in
And then when finished, off to live in a filthy overcrowded room.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/sunday-night/video/watch/164a16f1-1823-3ba3-8b5c-f21bbf20c2b5/where-supertankers-go-to-die/

Amazing was the guy who was doing the interview,
He as a child and his family were in this place and he was destined to be a shipbreaker himself, but somehow, they got out and now he is a Doctor in Sydney.

Well done sir.
Your work ethic and achievement given the hurdles you had in life is incredible.

Is it any wonder these people want to come here, to the land of milk and honey, where the streets are paved with gold for a shot at the lazy Australians job.

Are we now going to be subjected to every trivial thing you see on tv frank? This is a globally read forum, try to keep a certain standard will you.

Negative gearing is a form of leveraged speculation in which a speculator borrows money to buy an asset, but the income generated by that asset does not cover the interest on the loan

A negative gearing strategy can only make a profit if the asset rises so much in price that the capital gain is more than the sum of the ongoing losses over the life of the speculation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_gearing

There's nothing trivial about an achievement like this. Australia is indeed a land of opportunity, sometimes it takes a different viewpoint to see it.

So Frank Castle is here to tell everyone to work harder, whilst he claims to be a parasite landlord that up his rents at every chance possible...

The biggest bludgers, rent seeking filth in the world are Australian landlords. They think they have an entitlement to tax breaks, record low interest rates, government subsidies etc...

What a lunatic this bloke is...saying Australians renters / savers should not complain about policy because people in India work for 49 cents an hour. This is what the Bulls have resorted to...irrelevant and hypocrtical anecdotes from India

I am saying we get it easy here, very easy,
and if you and your ilk cant or refuse to make a go of it and continue to whine then perhaps you should do us all a favour and go and neck yourself.
At least that way you would free up a spot for those less fortunate that are prepared to make a go of it.

+1.

Frank is a two bit year ten drop out meat head who got lucky and now he associates himself with doctors and all sorts of high achievers. What a psycho.

If we keep on importing people like we have been in Australia it will cease to be the land of milk and honey. It simply isn't any more anyway, sure it might be if you're smart enough to become a doctor. But they have very strict PROTECTIONs, to keep their standards of living high, which is fair enough seeing as it's extremely hard to become a doctor. Most other jobs don't.

Our economy is a fraud, a total ponzi. Which is why we've had to sell to the Chinese to keep it going.

Give me a 50-60% crash and I'll think of it as the land of milk and honey. :)

Why don't you f#ck off Frank, nobody respects people like you, and never will. You're just a stupid old 2GB listening fucktard. Completely and wilfully clueless and a blatant liar.

If you worked even a fraction as hard as the immigrant example above, you would not need a massive crash to buy a house. You are an over entitled yob who puts the minimal amount of effort into self-education and work. The market does not have to change to accommodate your greed and laziness. Get off your ass and maybe things will go better for you.

What a load of shit. You are a corrupt nancy boy.

Why don't you go and work hard like an immigrant? Don't want to? Rather just sponge off them? Hypocrite much?

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis.
