The Papers title is "2 Depression, 1 Banking Collapse" is it not?

Maybe you should read the document............Yes here it is again:
Simon you never provide links for people to read what you link.

Now explain this to me -

However, in this paper we highlight one of the major differences between the two depressions. Namely,
the 1890s involved the collapse of a significant proportion of the Australian
financial system, whereas the disruption to the financial system in the 1930s was
comparatively mild.

Why was there a difference in the way the financial system was affected?

So you don't know where our money was produced in 1892 and 1930?

Did we have independence from Britain in either of the two depressions?

You don't think these questions are important do you. If you did you would know at least some of the answers.

Over the past 150 years, Australia has experienced two macroeconomic
depressions, both of which coincided with worldwide depressions.1

And yet America had its own money and they still had 2 depressions.....................

Maybe you should read the document. Instead of pretending you know what you're talking about.

They did indeed have two depressions when they had their own currency. Well done.

Now what currency did we have?

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
