Scientists do care about the matters discussed here and just because some scientists dislike the global warming brigade does not mean in any way that they support the damage that we are actually doing to the environment. It is good to be a bit skeptical when you see who is behind the scare mongering and what their actual goals are eg increasing taxes.
I am also sorry to tell you that the scientific method is very far from perfect . There was a major European study a few years ago that showed that our measurements of water quality were very poorly reproducible ie different labs got different results sometimes out by over 100%, this kinda thing is not uncommon. So IMHO as a scientist it is good to stay skeptical especially when the media starts raving too much about something. Having said all that I really hope that at least some good can come out of it all and we do get a bit serious about the way we churn through our resources, and treat our environment.

the big bang theory is accepted science and will be until evidence contradicts it. That's how science works and it works very well. I think you are having a straw man argument here. As I stated, I haven't claimed that AGW is set in stone and will never change, quite the opposite.
My point is if you are going to disagree with it, then it should be by counter evidence using the scientific method.
You seem to imagine that science is decided by whoever gets the most time on Television

1. The man attributed to discovering an expanding universe said he did not believe it was expanding
2. The man who coined the term big bang thought it was a silly idea.
3. The original idea was put forwards by a catholic scientist priest.
4. The idea is irrational rather than scientific. It is more like Genesis than what we think of as being scientific

Proposed by a catholic priest it is essentially an irrational sort of idea founded in the idea of Genesis, where we are supposed to believe that before the singularity there was nothing at all - not even previous big bangs.
That's not really silly if time began with the big bang. There could be nothing before it, in time, by definition. But Hawkins backed off claiming it was a singularity.
I like Victor Stenger's idea that the reason there is "something" rather than "nothing" is that the state of "nothing" can be shown to be unstable.
