Producing or storing oxygen wasn't a problem. CO2 scrubbing in submarines only became commonly available after the war. Modern systems for rebreathing remove carbon monoxide and other pollutants as well.
WW2 submarines had an emergency ability to remove C02 but you are right it would not help you much if you had no access to it trapped behind a water tight door which could only be opened from the other side.
You don't believe that this level of production is having an effect upon the climate.
Talk about selfish, greed inspired dribble!
greed? it's you lot that are demanding we all pay billions into carbon taxes and other ineffective feel good environmental schemes.
I noticed the scum have already slithered out to claim hurricane sandy was caused by global warming. ever notice how it's only bad weather that's caused by global warming??? when it's 28c and nice outside it's never global warming's fault then is it.

Just because I believe global warming is taking place does not mean that I support blindly, government suggested responses such as taxes.
In fact, I think global warming is a lot more positive than negative.
My thoughts:
Global warming is a massive recycling machine, that will take all of the carbon we have released, and lay it down as new coal seams and oil feilds.
The planet needs to warm to achieve that outcome, and anything we.do to stop warming will necessarily slow down the recycling process.
Not that nature g.a.f.
It has all the time in the world.
Global warming deniers- dear me!

science is not a matter of belief or denial. that you brand anyone who disagrees with the hypothesis of man made CO2 driving climate as a "denier" shows how far you are from science.
I am the love child of Tony Abbott and Pauline Hanson

you are a greedy, shortsighted, selfish climate change denier. Me, I like climate change, and think it will have many benefits for mankind.
I accept the climate changes, and I accept that humanity cannot reverse it,

of course the climate changes you twat. i posted a graph showing drastic changes going back 2000 years. your attempts at debating non issues won't distract from the core question of whether climate change is being driven by man or not.

PRINCETON, NJ -- The majority of Republicans in the United States do not believe the theory of evolution is true and do not believe that humans evolved over millions of years from less advanced forms of life. This suggests that when three Republican presidential candidates at a May debate stated they did not believe in evolution, they were generally in sync with the bulk of the rank-and-file Republicans whose nomination they are seeking to obtain.
Independents and Democrats are more likely than Republicans to believe in the theory of evolution. But even among non-Republicans there appears to be a significant minority who doubt that evolution adequately explains where humans came from.
The data from several recent Gallup studies suggest that Americans' religious behavior is highly correlated with beliefs about evolution. Those who attend church frequently are much less likely to believe in evolution than are those who seldom or never attend. That Republicans tend to be frequent churchgoers helps explain their doubts about evolution.
The data indicate some seeming confusion on the part of Americans on this issue. About a quarter of Americans say they believe both in evolution's explanation that humans evolved over millions of years and in the creationist explanation that humans were created as is about 10,000 years ago.
