Sydney rents fell in 2008 although we officially avoided recession. I can only imagine rent fall once we hit the wall.

Why would a large amount people in Sydney suddenly become unemployed?
Who said large number of people losing job is needed for rents to fall? Unemployment increase of only 1-2% or so was enough to make rents fall in 2008/09. I can only imagine what will happen once unemployment jumps by 3% or more

I would not put my money on rents in Sydney being lower one year from now, but I'd happily bet they would be at least a little bit higher. Any takers?
“imaginary Swedish movie star” with Aussie spruiker lingo is willing to bet his imaginary money earned by buying and selling imaginary properties - any takers?
When more and more and more people lose their job , the money will simply not be there and the rents WILL come down, just as they have in four other capitals already where people thought exactly the same thing as you . It may not happen overnight but it WILL happen.
I find that highly unlikely.

You better stick to the movies sweety , you sound like you live in fantasyland.

Im just wondering cause I dont see any significant spike in unemployment....
So you don't wanna make a bet then? Even without money, where the looser admits he was wrong?
And personal attacks just make you seem like you have run out of arguments so its not helping you make a point.
please note; Im talking about residential rents, commercial rents in Sydney are probably going to take a beating very soon due to many retailers closing down.

What exactly is your problem and why are you posting on this forum? THe market is not going to crash no matter how many posts you make on property forums. I thought the idea was to share ideas and debate property prices. What exactly are you hoping to achieve with your insults?
Is this a proper forum or just an online play ground for underprivileged Gen Y's that are bitter about not being able to save up for a deposit?

Tell me Ted - exactly what do you think you bring to this forum besides unintelligible mutterings that have no basis in fact or logic.
If you have a point then please tell us, because so far you have added nothing at all to any intellectual discussion.
Any expressed market opinion is my own and is not to be taken as financial advice
So you ask a question "Why would a large amount people in Sydney suddenly become unemployed?"

It's just an online play ground to make fun of paid spruikers like you.
There is no way to have serious discussion with an “imaginary Swedish movie star” with Aussie spruiker lingo who is willing to bet his imaginary money earned by buying and selling imaginary properties

I told you I am more than happy to prove to you who I am. But only if you promise to apologise after being proved wrong.
Until you start acting like a grown up I will ignore you
Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
