Yes I have 2 mortgages now. Not costing me very much at all to be honest - saved a lot in my offset account and collect rent on the other one. Your point is?
even if you don't pay interest at all (you have enough money in offset account) it costs you the difference between net rental yield and opportunity cost on money in your offset account.

Yeah, good thing I didn't sell my house at a big discount and put it in shares as some here advised me earlier.
If you invested in share shorts you could make almost 10% in just a few weeks. 6% more than with the new offer for the house. If you invested in USD you could make almost 7%. So there are many good investment opportunities around.

Sounds like you are afraid of debt. If everyone was as afraid of debt as you are, practically all the businesses we know today would never have existed.
I’m not particularly proud of system we have right now. We could have much better system in that case? Who knows?

I'm not greedy - 3.5% taxfree over 4 weeks is enough for me thanks.
I put trolls and time wasters on my ignore list so if I don't respond to you, you are probably on it ....
but if you don't sell in now you may lose 4 or 5 or even 10% in the very same second you reject the offer.

To think I almost listened to the pessimists and sold 4 weeks ago
But if you don't listen them this time you may suffer much higher loss. Who knows?
Quote:
No. 2001 was not 4 weeks ago.
But, equally today is not 4 weeks ago.
BTW. this smartass role you are playing is not particularly entertaining. It is not even real one because you still didn’t sell for this higher price, so you made no gains whatsoever. There are people here who made more money today on share or AUD falls than what you virtualy "made" in 4 weeks. Why would they go around and scream: “look how smart I am". In 4 weeks you may wake up and discover you “lost” 10%. Would that mean you are stupid?
What you do is a gamble, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. All the time casino wins.

p.s. Don't get confused between Sydney's west and innerwest.
Do not confuse the value of Sydneys innerwest in times such as these

Are you serious?!
Because your offset us high it's not costing you much?!
I think you need to revisit accounting 101 or get an accountant

Thats why I stick to the past ... because no one knows what will happen in the future - and according to you, I made 3.5% in the last 4 weeks! (my take is actually the offer 4 weeks ago was low but you are entitled to your opinion)
Not screaming how smart I am. In fact I am saying I am not that good because I didn't make the 6-10% you proposed shorting stocks or on FX.
