I would think it's a bit cool around that area although they will have some hot days in summer. Brisbane has fewer days above 35C than Melbourne contrary to popular belief.
Between Noosa and Newcastle and right on the coast is probably the best region for climate on the east coast.
Yes, Brisbane has fewer days above 35C than Melbourne, but so does Singapore, and I wouldn't call Singapore 'cool'. Humidity is the key element and seasonality (i.e. is it hot ALL the f***ing time?).
I actually like Brisbane's climate. I used to yearn for seasons but now I am happy with warm all year round.

Agreed. So why do we build northern European style houses that are ovens in Summer and ice boxes in winter (down here anyway)? Because white pride don't want to live in wog houses, even if that means being comfortable.

Not sure we do. I don't think it's hard to build to suit the climate, although it may cost a few grand more to do so. Insulation isn't that expensive.

I suspect there was a good reason the old boys in QLD traditionally built 'Queenslanders' in Queensland.

It's not so much about insulation as orientation.
Get the orientation right, and an uninsulated home is more comfortable (both summer and winter) than many insulated homes "facing" the wrong way.
Most winter days I have to open the doors on my place by 9:00 am to let heat out, even when the outside temperature is 2° ". the lowest internal temperature this year was 15.5°c at sunrise while outside it was -8°c.
Obviously with temps down to -8° I have very good insulation. It cost far less (when building) then the combined cost of hearing and cooling units, let alone the ongoing associated energy costs.
IMO passive solar is the best housing investment one can make.
But either way, he can surely always take some sort of solace from the certain knowledge that he's not you Chris - Regardless of what property prices may or may not do.
Yes Herb, because I'm certain he knows everything there is to know about me based on random short comments on a random forum.
Clap clap 👏
As an alternative he can aspire to be a sock just like you .
I miss your jubberish, do us all a favour and get back on the hot sauce
As an alternative he can aspire to be a sock just like you .
So your personal best assessment remains that I'm a sock does it Chris?
F*** you're stupid - LOL
Hmmm - Like seriously Chris, with the yarns I tell, I'd just genuinely need to have an IQ of 160 plus maybe (to keep them all straight) - Which I surely don't - Have an IQ of 160 plus.
Or some genuine 'herbie hater' somewhere along tha line would have just torn me ta bits ages back surely???
So Occam's razor should just generally suggest to you that ole herbie is just pretty much 'ridgy-didge' I'd suggest?
Sheesh, so which is it Chris? Am I just pretty much a super genius or just pretty much straight up? In your 'wise and considered' opinion??? - With "sock" just simply not cutting it - Sorries ... Cummon Chris; Take ya pick - Super genius or Straight up? - Get a wriggle on ... 'Cause I can still see you 'lurking' here ...

I didn't know it required an IQ of 160 to create an email account and then register to a forum with a handle that has its own artificial persona. I wouldn't of thought creating a sock would take any form of intellect at all so based on your normal incoherent dribble I thought you were a sock.
And your story is straight fwd, you live in Rocky, you own your house outright and you have $800-900k in savings. Not hard to spin that doozy forever in a day contributing FA else other than we should live a shit life in Melb/Syd and if we live long enough, move away from everything and everyone we love and retire 3,500km away or more so you can have a stupid cubicle to call your own.

I don't live in Rocky Chris - I live in SEQ.
So you're simply just wrong again I'm afraid.

Well, not speaking for the rest of the country, but in Sydney, about 95% of the property here is not suited to the climate. The house design is about 180% wrong for 33 latitude.
I've spent time in Melbourne and it's only a little bit better there.
The closest we come to design for climate is the "Queenslander".

I think we can do a lot better than the Queenslander these days. The technology we have now could offer us a moving roof that tracks the sun and converts the energy into electricity instead of heating up the house. That combined with insulation, design, and the alignment of the house to keep the sun out during summer means we should be able to lower inside temperatures, and when the temperatures do get uncomfortable, the electricity generated would power the air-conditioning.
