Got it, you are commenting on something other than what we are talking about.
I like white cars to...
Given this thread was started on the 15th with 'the show' to be broadcast on the 21st, I think you'll find rather a lot of comments were made here by those who'd not watched it.
With me continuing to do so - As I see fit. (Albeit from just a slightly different perspective now to those who might have chosen to put themselves through the ordeal of watching it perhaps.)
Like it's entertainment is all - With no genuine thinking person considering it news surely?
That's speculation. Right now they're making money from wages and rental income (in addition to the capital growth, and regardless of whether or not they sell).
I feel the common theme is they don't own anything and live month to month. They are happy to work every day and expect to keep their reasonably high paying jobs. Therefore, if they are approved for finance they will leverage it as far as possible as they have nothing to lose. Worst case scenario they are bankrupt, living on centrelink looking for a job in the exact same predicament as they started.

That's Right...
The Bulls live in this Fantasy Bubble State where the Economy only Grows.....there's Never another Crisis or a Recession.
History clearly shows otherwise......Boom...Bust.....Boom....Bust.....Boom.....You know what comes Next....
What is annoying about this media coverage is that it is still controlling the narrative.
What would be refreshing is rather than the data, if they looked at the mindset. I would have liked if they got the perky couple from the investment company ad in a room with the old lady who'd lost everything.
The idea that the finance people who gave their opinions to 4 Corners (such as former banker Satyajit Das) hadn't developed those opinions from data shows how dumb 'investors' on this site are.
WHAT WOULD EDDIE DO? MAAAATE! Share a cot with Milton?

I still read Das a bit. He's not totally opposed to debt forgiveness from what I can see - But does seem a bit worried about some of the possible consequences.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
