The average household size has also increased, which means people now live in more crowded homes. The trend is still expected to accelerate as the housing market cycle peaks and low affordability and increasing costs start to impact household budgets.

Not necessarily so in that it's my understanding the average size of homes has increased?
Tho I'd not argue tha point that the average size of the blocks of land the homes sit on has probably decreased.
Hmmm - But it all just depends how far back one wants ta go to pick their 'starting point' anyway? Like I know for a fact that one of my old grannies bought her final 2 bedroom home (that also included wot woz just effectively an enclosed verandah cum sleepout) from a couple who'd raised 7 ( or woz it 9 ? ) kids in tha joint - On a block of land that I'd think couldn't have bin any more than 280 m2 tops? And even as a young bloke meself, I lived quite happily 'n contented in a 2 bedroom flat wif 3 other blokes - One each of tha lads occupied the 2 upstairs bedrooms; Tha lounge woz my bit; 'N tha 4'th dude had his swag rolled out under the internal stairs. (And Yes, I AM talking about 'in Australia' [just for any of youse genuine 'doubters' out there] - LOL)
My interpretation of Herb is he is a retired man who likes to post on here every now and then but because he's retired and financially secure, literally doesn't give a sh*t about half the stuff said on here.
Which is why he types in strine because he doesn't really care, he doesn't care what you think about him, he doesn't care whether you read what he says, just like all of us he likes to put in his two cents and he has a bit of fun doing so.
That being said, when it's a topic he actually cares about participating in, he types in proper English and his written English is actually better than 95% of the people on this forum. Which coincidentally, it's the bears that take up the vast majority of poor written English. I'm not talking from a grammar Nazi perspective either, my written English isn't perfect but those that are more well written on this site will know what I mean regarding the quality of English of most the bears posts.
Considering all that, I think Herb is one of the most valuable posters on here. He is rational, less biased than most of us and has more quality posts than most the guys on here. Also if you were well read, you'd find it very easy to interpret what he says, especially because his strine sentences are constructed so that they are easy to read. And when I say well read, I don't mean you've read one type of book your entire life, or you've read the newspaper, I mean well read including a variety of different types of books where even though they are written in English, it can take a little bit to adjust to the different use of English depending on the country of origin and the era it was written.
So your inability to understand what Herb says, speaks more so about your own intelligence rather than his.
There is no logical reason to write in strine.
It is more time consuming than writing normally.
His strine posts add no value to the discussion.
You've gone to way too much trouble to defend someone who is a faceless poster on an internet forum. Why would you do that?

Seriously mate...get real!
Most my posts are written while waiting for simulations to run at work. My posts are just to kill some time and I like Herb, I like how his language annoys most posters, I find it amusing.

Wot I finds amusin' is tha apparently total inability of some ta cope wif seein' something writ in a style that's just a minor little tad/touch different ta tha style they'd like ta see it written in/'approve' of seeing it written in even? - LOL
Hmmm - I's still askin' meself if it speaks volumes about tha nation these days? Or just more specifically about them as individuals???
But anyways, f*** ya's if ya's got any probs wif 'me style' - 'N just go 'n read some book by Ion L. Idriess (a New South Welshman wot moved up ta QLD 'n run around wif 'tha Blacks' for a while when doin' a bit of tin mining 'n such like) wot served in The Great War in tha same LH Regiment (Tha 5'th it woz) as me ole granddaddy (Oh 'n Billy Sing - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Sing - Aka The Assassin; Wot woz half 'chink' ta boot ... )
Doin' so just might helps ya silly prats get some sort of a bit more balanced perspective???
