Not 1.3%?
No, definitely 1.9%

Consumer protection laws extended to small businesses. Banks not permitted to repossess due to non-monetary defaults (for example, a fall in the property value).

You are pretty wrapped up in minor percentages there big guy!

Did you see what the RBA is spruiking?

"According to Dr Lowe, "insidious" slow wage growth is now a challenge for the central bank and means Australia will struggle to meet the bank's inflation target.

"If wage growth is stuck at 2 per cent we're going to struggle hitting 2.5 percent inflation, he said."

Per link above:

"The annual inflation rate dipped from 2.1 per cent to 1.9 per cent in June quarter figures released on Wednesday - below the RBA's 2 to 3 per cent target."

So has inflation.

Wages growth and inflation do fall from time to time.

Wages growth is currently flat in real terms, and sometimes it even goes negative (like in 2000, 2008, 2010, 2014 etc).

No big deal. Just part of the cycle.

According to the RBA- lack of wage growth is "insidious".

According to the official ABS data, wages are growing. Growth is low, but so is inflation.

It's not unusual for wages to fall in real terms - this happened in 2000, 2008, 2010, 2014.

Similarly, it's not unusual for real rents to fall. Rents fell nationally in real terms in 1994, 1995, and from 2000 to 2006.

Values of lots of things go up and down. Just part of the cycle.

It's an insidious problem I'm told.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
