... It's the Liberals and Labour who pander to the Boomers by catering to their every whim that's caused this ...
If wot ya says is true Hidflect, ya should have no trouble providing us wif a list of measures from recent budgets wot specifically "pander to the Boomers" then hey?
A Professional Demographer to an amateur demographer:"negative natural increase will never outweigh the positive net migration"
I can recall once many yrs ago I racked up maybe 54 hrs in a week workin' for tha guv (for which they only paid me 32.25 [or wotever it woz] wif that bein' all wot I woz 'technically' required ta do ... 'N went eff this! - It's cuttin' inta me time when I gets ta go out 'n earn a really decent buck moonlighting! - LOL
Hmmm - I bets poor little Chris has never worked a 30 hr shift in his day? - He'd probably google it on tha internet 'n say that's agin all Australia's OH&S regs herbies so could simply never happen ... LOL LOL LOL!
Haha I'm with you there. I like to get paid for every hour I do, if I worked a 54 hour week and only got paid for 32.25, I'd say I'm clocking off once I hit 32.25 hours and going to my second job or they can pay me for 54 hours, their choice.
I have never worked a 30 hour shift, not sure I personally could do it haha. I could probably do about a 25 hour shift and that'd be me done. Longest shift I've done is 18 hours. I have however, worked 21 consecutive days at 12 hour days (which isn't exactly legal either, I think 13 days in a row is max that's allowed). That's what Chris doesn't get, he wonders how I made my money so quickly, doing 252 hours in 3 weeks is what boosts the savings rapidly. That was a 5 week project, took 2 days off that entire 5 weeks and only took 2 days since we were waiting on equipment to arrive. I got paid a 150/day per diem as a living away from home allowance so that was just straight cash in the pocket (not taxable), on top of my 12 hours a day in which 2 of those hours got paid at significant penalty rates plus a project completion bonus. So out of the $150 a day per diem ($1050 a week) I probably spent $200/week of it on food. So $4250 of that from the 5 weeks went in my bank account, that was just the per diem alone, not to mention all the hours I worked as well in those 5 weeks etc. That's only 5 weeks of a 52 week year accounted for, yet Chris wonders how I saved money quickly haha.
Coming from working in the mines yourself Herbie, I'm sure you'd know more than anyone that there's a lot of money to be earned there for those willing to put in the hard work and hours. Poor Chris just doesn't want to work hard, he doesn't see why he should sacrifice a little bit of his time so that him and his family will be significantly better off. He thinks his 38 hour week + complaining about life should be enough to warrant him free handouts and that the hard workers are stupid and shouldn't be rewarded with more than him.
You can download the whole speech if you are happy to pay.
Now is there anything else you would like clarified Chris. Perhaps your apology to everyone who participated in this thread would be appropriate at this point.
Don't make me travel through your incessant posts to find it but you agreed and although paraphrasing said something along the lines of 'people with a Home can borrow off it to invest in shares, housing and other investments or have the option to downgrade but if they do just pay down a mortgage, don't invest or downsized just live in it then there's no tangible worth to house price rises' you then went on to say 'so what, most people do use it fir some form of investment'
You have a very short memory of you don't recall this and it's extremely likely you will edit the list as you do the blog when your wrong.
I'm happy to debate the whole thing again though with you Trollie and everyone else (sock or otherwise) if you like.
The more times we do the more times new comers get to educate themselves on the stupidity of the notion that house price rises make PPOR homeowners automatic richer this is simply not true.

You seem to have gone off on a tangent. I was referring to your claim that Shadow, Khaderbhai or myself agreed with you. Post the link to this alleged 'agreement'.
When you actually read what I said you will find that I didn't say banks had lost their majority share of the market, that was just more crap that Chris made up.
