They didn't widen the Narrows Bridge then?

They didn't build Mt Henry Bridge?
Yes Dimshit they did both of those things. And yet commute times from Joondalup to the City and Kwinana to the city both take longer than they did a decade ago as a result of the increased usage of the roads being greater thaan the increased capacity despite your assurances that commutes were getting faster.

Still waiting on Hong Kong restaurant tips Matty?
Sorry I gave up on you when you contradicted yourself with emotional rhetoric:

and that is affecting the quality of food in the restaurants. He recently complained he couldn't get a decent meal anywhere

Decent yes, but he says two years ago it was fantastic, now it's only ok.

What sort of food does he want to eat? Where does he live? How far is he willing to travel? What does he want to spend? Not only is your comment hollow on fact but your request hollow on details.

How many people lived in Joondalup 50 years ago?

Was it possible to commute from Burns Beach to the City in 1960?

Did anyone at all live in Burns Beach?

How is it that now, people can live in Burns Beach and commute to the city.

The answer is in my original statement which you claim hasn't happened and can't happen.

Ask yourself, why has road use from those areas increased?

Is it because more people live in those areas?

How can people live in places which were once wild bush, cut off from the city by a total lack of infrastructure (roads etc)?

Could it be for the following reason?

So that was bullshit then, literally?
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Not at all. But why would I recommend a French restaurant if he only eats dumplings? Why recommend a restaurant at A$100 a plate if his budget is A$400 or A$20? Why recommend a restaurant in Repulse Bay if he has no intention of travelling from Tsim Sha Tsui? Why recommend a cafe the locals love if he has no intention of eating anywhere other than the Excelsior because he craves company of white faces and expat accents?

Your comment was baseless hollow rhetoric. In fact you summed yourself up well at literal bullshit.

Your statement was that every year we build more roads speeding up commutes. That statement is an outright lie. Not only do we not build more arterial roads every year, but over the past 10 years commutes have become slower, not faster.

You are comparing apples and avocadoes. Piss off.

Your original statement was false. This statement that I claim it cannot happen is also false.

Quote:

Ask yourself, why has road use from those areas increased?
I told you the reason why yesterday. Because the state government and land developers have incentivised people to move to outer areas north and south of the CBD. They have done so without adequate provision of road network capacity relative to population growth or employment creation to mitigate commuter needs. This has increased congestion on an already limited major road network increasing commute times.

Not only did I provide you with 4 articles discussing this I also provided you population growth statistics for three outer suburbs that have increased in population by a factor of 4 over the past decade.

If you are unwilling to address the realities that I present to you so you can claim I am wrong only to circle back and discuss the exact same things to try and prove yourself right you are going to come across as more stupid than normal.

And after the selling your house because prices will crash only for them to not crash and taunting us all to follow your pound bet you are already coming across as exceptionally dumb.

Your statement was a lie Dimshit. 100% off the mark. Retract it.

No twat, what I said was

Quote:

Meaning, we open up more land for development by building new and better roads, speeding up the commuting time from outlying areas, making them viable for development.

You are a twat Matey and I have had enough of your twattyness.

Go for a swim or something.

Your statement was that every year we build more roads speeding up commutes.
We do build more roads and we do speed up commutes.

We build a road, the commute gets quicker, the new land opened up becomes occupied, more people use the new road, commutes slow down.

We widen the road, speed up the commute, more people move to the outlying area and use the new road, commutes slow down again.

Rinse and repeat.

Long term, commute time gets quicker.

Again, 50 years ago, how long did it take to get from Mandurah to Perth?

How long does it take today?

Are you the full picnic?

A I am sure your frustrated wife tells you after every single disappointing sexual encounter Dimshit, while you think you have done a good job you have missed the point.

Not once have I debated the creation of roads. Not once. Not once have I debated the building of the Mt Henry Bridge or duplication of the narrows. Not once. What I am debating is your false claim that each year we build more of these speeding up commutes.

That statement is a lie. That lie is supported by regular media in relation to increasing commute times from outer suburbs.

The pain simple FACT Dimshit is that road and rail infrastructure has not kept up with population growth. It isn't my opinion. It is a widely reported FACT.

If that was true it would take less time to commute from Joondalup to the Perth CBD than a decade ago. It does not.

Irrelevant.

I see you have once against reverted to type Matey.

No point to make, tied yourself up in knots so you resort to what you know best.

Good old mental Matey.

Never a dull moment.

Meanwhile Matey, have a gander at this article about a road improvemnt which will speed up commutes and open up more land for potential development.

Yes, those people will now get to Hodges drive 1 minute faster where their journey to the Perth CBD will take 11 minutes longer than a decade ago, thanks to increased congestion on inadequate infrastructure.

Moron.

Phew, luckily that as " we continue to automate and improve communications, the need to commute to a central location will be reduced.

We have a lot of land here. We live on a tiny fraction of it."

Hopefully Muppets like you won't have to keep travelling into the centre from your little ticky tacky out at Methbro.

The waste of humanity such arduous commutes presents turns people so psychotically deranged they think they are living in frantically placed and infrastructural overwhelmed Hong Kong!

I rarely go into work. Reading specs and contracts can be done on a laptop in the back yard. Email tennis just as easily.

We employ one guy who I have only met once. A Drafstman living in Adelaide. Started last year, flew over for a meet and greet and now does everything from home.

Couldn't do that 20 years ago.
