Technically (ta my way a thinkin') bears should be cheerin' anything wot brings more potentially 'weak hands' inta tha market - 'Cause that just could result in some type of 'subprime' crash - Similar ta in tha US?

But bears seems ta be actually cheerin' tha just maybes somewot potentially dodgier borrowers bein' tightened up on?

Hmmm - Maybes bears is just workin' on tha theory "too little; too late" tho just maybes.

'Tho all I's really prepared ta say is We'll effin' see ... :)
Bears don't rub their hands with glee at seeing families turfed to the sidewalk. IO loans just increase the instability of the market while artificially and temporarily driving up prices for genuine home buyers. Most of the overpricing could be fixed if it was simply banned like in many other countries. Then whack a 10% tax on corrupt foreigners land banking here and the drop in prices would see Billions freed up for expenditure in the productive economy and investment in business capital. Not gonna happen though.

Bullshit - Simons (wot's pretty much tha most prolific bear here I'd say?) surely does.

He quite actively looks forward ta his much hoped for great deflationary depression and very often 'n regularly revels in 'n gloats about his thoughts on wot "fun" it 'will all be.

and they simultaneously reduced rates for P&I home owners by 0.08%

Seriously this is the banks complying with APRA's crackdown on I/O loans. Each bank is introducing the changes in accord with their procedures, not all on the same day.
Are you really going to do a new post for every bank?
Golly, didn't I say this would happen🤔

Slowly slowly catchee monkies- to cover the risk imposed by then, we are heading to that 3% spread for investas.

Moody's move shines light on Australia's home loan risks

Heehehhe. As has been predicted, if Malcolm Turnballs refuses to reign in his spruiker property mates then the overseas owners will. Especially since the Big 4 are as Ozzie as McDonalds (I think they're 60-80% foreign owned).

All pretense of Ozzie government control over the economy has been stripped out of the Liberal party's hands. When the rating is dropped, banks must pay a higher interbank loan rate internationally. And make no mistake; 90% of the housing loans are overseas borrowed.

The next boatload of refugees we'll be taking will be from Sydbourne.

To borrow Simon's catch phrase, Good times...
