I'm in the market for another shitbox. (Looking to 'diversify' out of Brisvegas.)

$350 to $400K cash maybe. ($450K at a REAL pinch!)

A house. Not an apartment. (Basic 3 bed/1 bath/1 car ['n very definitely preferably brick] built back in tha 60's/70's/80's is fine - Good even - f*** their new stuff.)

Definitely not interested in Sydvegas - As me stated price range indicates! - LOL. (Nor Newcastle even.)

'N wif rental return/minimal maintenance being more important to me personally than capital growth.

Thoughts/suggestions/points/pointers on NSW regionals to consider anyone?

Fibre to the premises. 5 minutes drive to UNE. 5 hours drive to Brisbane, 1 hr flight.

The countryside is collapsing right now, but Armidale still has enough economic activity to weather the storm.

Hi

may I suggest spending a bit more time searching. My husband and I are planing to move from Darwin, NT to NSW region, haven't quite decided on the location, depends on the work options. I have been browsing through properties in the entire region ad have found some great options. If you have time take a look here and you might find what you need. I hope this helps, changing location is quite tedious, and time consuming.

Cheers!

I would browse the old somersoft forum and now propertychat and see the old posts from Nathan Birch. He seemed to have great success in the NSW regionals.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
