So are you re investing or spending your dividends.......
100% re-investing. I am not retired and work full-time! I don't *need* passive income to support my family yet. My goal is to get to the point where the after tax passive income (non super) is 100% of what I need - I am currently at about 50%. When I reach 100%, I will be able stop working anytime I choose, and experience no change in lifestyle. And that's while staying in my current house. And not having to wait until superannuation preservation age. Obviously I have more invested through super as well.

Of course if I *really* wanted to stop work right now, I'd just sell my expensive Sydney north shore house (which I own outright) and buy a less expensive (but probably still out of your league) house for cash somewhere else in Sydney or outside of Sydney, and invest the extra capital to generate the required extra income.

So as Trollies chart shows its only back to the 2007 highs after re investment.........Great investment.

Ahhh.........after all those years of sacrifice on your PPOR you still need to sell your North Shore Digs and Downgrade to a cheaper house to live........

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis.
