I know this video is a lot longer than the 30second media bytes that you rely on to inform yourselves, but if you actually watch the whole thing you may learn something about how Trump got in.

Err..no he didn't. The best data I've seen so far indicates that Clinton won the female vote by 54% to 42%. Where did you get your figures from? Or did you just make them up? If you can come up with a better source please let us know.

There's plenty of propaganda around, but also some credible sources. You just have to be able to discern the difference. Ill assume you didn't know the source of the Pew Research Centre's funding and the identity of its board of governors and that its a non-profit making organisation with a good reputation. Or are all sources on the internet propaganda? Hopefully you're more successful in making your investment decisions when evaluating sources of information. And are you saying that Foxbat's figures have more validity even though (or because of the fact?) he hasn't quoted a source?

I'm very careful of the sources that I quote, just not paranoid.

Trump didn't even win the popular vote.
Clinton won that.
Take risks - if you win you will become wealthy, if you lose you will become wise

I know. I've been calling out people who say that the "The people have spoken". They did, and they voted more for Clinton. It was the antiquated electoral college system that won it for the Republicans. Just like in 2000 when it gave us W.Bush.

It's cool that you think you are calling people out, but really you don't understand what the electoral college system achieves.

It allows people outside of the major cities to have a voice. Otherwise the whole system would be completely dominated by a few major cities.

As for calling it "antiquated" it's part of the US constitution. Is that also antiquated along with the bill of rights? If people are so outraged by the result, they should have all turned out to vote rather than leaving it too late.

Perhaps I should have said "pointed out' rather than 'called out'. Hope that doesn't offend. And I understand perfectly what it achieves and the historical background. Here's a good account of it for those that don't. http://uselectionatlas.org/INFORMATION/INFORMATION/electcollege_history.php

As it says in that link "A third idea was to have the president elected by a direct popular vote. Direct election was rejected not because the Framers of the Constitution doubted public intelligence but rather because they feared that without sufficient information about candidates from outside their State, people would naturally vote for a "favorite son" from their own State or region. At worst, no president would emerge with a popular majority sufficient to govern the whole country. At best, the choice of president would always be decided by the largest, most populous States with little regard for the smaller ones." So your concern about the system being dominated by a few major cities was addressed. Communications were obviously very limited and most people wouldn't have sufficient knowledge to make an informed choice about candidates from another part of the country.

"The original idea was for the most knowledgeable and informed individuals from each State to select the president based solely on merit and without regard to State of origin or political party".

And when I say 'antiquated', I know it was part of the constitution, but like any part of it, it can be amended. And I do think that it is "outdated, outmoded, behind the times, old-fashioned, archaic, anachronistic, superannuated, outworn and obsolete" when society has changed and the population is capable of directly elect their leader rather than use intermediaries. The members of the electoral college aren't even obligated to vote for the candidate that won their state's popular vote. I'd say its time for a change and that the electoral college system should be changed.

And yes, people should have turned out to vote. Hope they'll learn their lesson for next time.
