Looks like the popular vote count is Clinton 59,263,903 and Trump 59,085,787. The people voted for Hillary; an antiquated electoral system put Trump in power. And when all those rednecks realise that they'll be losing their foodstamps and healthcare to pay for tax cuts for the rich and extra spending on the military, they might put all those guns to use!
The Brexit voters are getting pissed off that their Marmite has gone up by 30p.
Matthew, 30 Jan 2016, 09:21 AM Your simplistic view is so flawed it is not worth debating. The current oversupply will be swallowed in 12 months. By the time dumb shits like you realise this prices will already be rising.
I’m enjoying the bewilderment about Trump’s victory. More than 12 months ago on this blog I wrote several times that I thought Trump was a very sharp operator who knew exactly what he was doing. I thought he had a very good chance of getting the Republican nomination, and an equally as good chance of taking the white house. I copped a bagging from others here thought he was doing it as a publicity stunt and that he would implode and leave it to the serious candidates like Jeb Bush at some point.
Then during the campaign, the polling seemed like bullshit. Hillary could barely fill a primary school classroom at her events, while a few days before the election Trump held a rally at midnight in some godforsaken town and had ten thousand people show up. Can you imagine an Australian politician having a campaign rally at midnight and anyone at all showing up? In the days before the election, all the local media talking heads were smugly predicting that Clinton would cruise to a comfortable victory while I thought that the best Clinton could hope for was a skin-of-the-teeth win, and she had a good chance of losing. I wasn’t at all surprised that Trump won the election, I’m just surprised that it was such a resounding victory.
While he may be a personally unpleasant man, the American voters were able to separate the personal from the political, and they liked Trump’s policies. The things that he is saying about controlling immigration, securing employment and avoiding foreign wars are exactly what western people want to hear right now. Whether he’ll be able to achieve any of the things he spoke of during his campaign is a different matter, but in any case he has blown up the smug, self-satisfied elites on both the left and right of American politics, and this disruption can only be a good thing.
I anticipate the same thing happening in other countries (eg LePen, Wilders) and here as well. Perhaps it will be Pauline, or perhaps someone else, but the person who delivers the same message as Trump will win power here. Cut immigration, look after the people who are here already and control the ravages of multinational companies. It may not be easy to do, but it’s bloody simple to explain. And I’m pretty sure that Penny f***ing Wong, Shorten, Turnbull and the rest of those worthless, idiotic arseclowns don’t get it, and won’t be invited to the victory party when it happens.

There is no way we'll get to world war 3 unless we elect people who will go protectionist, close their boarders, rip up treaties, default on debts, switch sides and order the police to form death squads.
We are seeing these things in many countries as we speak- the Donald is not the first.
America is going protectionist, as it always has, just before the mother of all wars.
WHAT WOULD EDDIE DO? MAAAATE! Share a cot with Milton?
Will he get them through? Republicans always seem to worry about “funding the deficit” and demanding to balance the budget. Then again, perhaps it only matters if the President is a black man.
Newjerk? can you try harder than dig up another person's blog. My first promo was with Billabong and my name in English is modified with a T, am Perth born but also lived in Sydney to make my $$ It's Absolutely Fabulous if it includes brilliant locations, & high calibre tenants..what more does one want? Understand the power of the two "P"" or be financially challenged Even better when there is family who are property mad and one is born in some entitlements.....Understand that beautiful women are the exhibitionists we crave attention, whilst hot blooded men are the voyeurs ... A stunning woman can command and takes pleasure in being noticed. Seems not too many understand what it means to hold and own props and get threatened by those who do. Banks are considered to be law abiding and & rather boring places yeah not true . A bank balance sheet will show capital is dwarfed by their liabilities this means when a portions of loans is falling its problems for the bank.
"The world's most qualified women for the job losses to the world's least qualified man".
I'm not site they have though that through though.
Ever since Whitewater, Hillary has proven she its not even a semi decent record keeper.
I think the problem was that the Democtatic Party decided to ignore the votes of it's members, and go with Hillary instead of Bernie, or, indeed, another female in the party.
Hillary was disliked widely, and that grew when they pushed Bernie aside... oh well, lesson they can learn for next time.. if they want to.
