Not as momentous a one as when Caesar crossed tha Rubicon (leastways we hopes not anyway) but definitely a biggy regardless. That's nice.
********************************************************************************************************************** Yep, she's all over red rover - LOL:
"Donald Trump has claimed victory before a crowd of cheering supporters at his New York headquarters, calling on Americans to "come together as one united people" and congratulating Hillary Clinton on a hard-fought battle." (bold 'n large mine)
That's right Jethro. Nice for a very small minority. Wouldn't have been a hot topic in the media, but has limited meaning to the majority. The only real winners are the traders.

Keep beatin' ya meat mate - I've pretty much gotten used ta tha dull thumpin' noise it makes ...
*********************************************************************************************************************** Hmmm, A Trump, a trump, a trump - Wif tha GOP in control of both houses - My, my, my; Wherever might this take us ...
But clearly nobody is scared. That is why the ASX dropped 5% in 90 minutes at 1pm when it became clear that he may win. Why the gold price spiked 3% at the same time.
Or is what you are saying that the entire world is weak to have reacted in such a manner?
Yes, weak little socialists, or faux capitalists, sucking on the government/central bank tit, draining the life blood from future generations. Greedy, weak, unproductive house speculators, terrified that the age of thieving has come to an end.
Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret. Ambrose Bierce

No need to be like that Jethro. Traders bet against the suburbanites every second. That's the reality.
"....We are going to fix our inner cities and rebuild our highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, schools, hospitals. We're going to rebuild our infrastructure, which will become, by the way, second to none, and we will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it. "
WHAT WOULD EDDIE DO? MAAAATE! Share a cot with Milton?

Thanks for your input.
news flash. The entire world is not the stock market.
Your entire world might be the markets but there are billions who have different lives.
It is an absurd outcome but one that will no doubt repeat here in the not to distant future. You can't educate people, show them affluence but deny them opportunity at the same time without a serious backlash. The world of 'treat em like mushrooms' has gone, people are educated and if there not they can access smarts online or just enough to get them thinking more than they ever have.
I think this is Australias future, it just shows you can't shit all over an entire generation or two and expect them to just accept it. From where I stand a huge part of this lies with a dissinfranchised generation who voted for the one man the PC, economically elite, private school twats didn't want. I think this demographic thought it would be the greatest 'f*** you' to vote for him, they felt helpless either way but if he got elected they could share the pain/burden.
America. The greatest country on earth, no wait isn't that Australia?

Trade a lot of houses against us sub-urbanites do ya Terry?
Must admit that me general impression ta date would be that you're too much of a penniless 'n/or gormless type ta ever get inta any game ya see as bein' as full-on big time 'risky' as that?

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
