Well we will soon see will we not.

Your stance is ridiculous - this state has had billions invested in its future, people smarter than you are walking away from their Perth crash dreams.

You can go right now to Lancellin and buy houses for 40-50% of their pre-gfc value - yet you think you are gonna get better than that - greed will catch you out.

Don't tell me that you think Lancellin has no future, have you no brain at all?

Young people may pay more for their education but the quality seems to be a disaster. Some young bears on here seem totally unable to assess risk versus opportunity.
I'm not saying that WA has no future. I'm saying that WA has had an orgy during the boom and all of the leverage that came in during it will come out again. I've lived through bubbles and recessions. These "smart" people haven't. Just because something is cheaper than it was doesn't mean that it can't get cheaper. It will.

Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Zero is coming...

If it gets to $20 per ton I would seriously look at buying as it would be below cost of production.

Yes, it's very good news for Australia, especially the treasury.

So.. it has recovered 50% of it's crash yet ?

Wake me up when it gets back to it's highs...

Geez, I am glad my income is not reliant on Iron Ore mining in such a way I have to rush to post every positive thing that happens to the price .... like you do Newman/NotFooled/ Shopping trolly :bye:

Shadow - Defrauded his Bank ? 2015 I have 9 different loans and my bank had no idea which ones were personal and which were investment. They had half of them classed incorrectly. When this change came in they asked me to tell them if any personal loans were incorrectly classed as investment, which I did, and they switched them to personal for the lower rate. They also had a couple of investment loans incorrectly classed as personal. They didn't ask me about those. So they stay on the lower rate too. Worked out pretty well. :)
Shadow - 2008 Sydney Median House Price 1.25M by 2014-2015

Shadow : I think this boom has already begun in several cities. My prediction :
Peak of boom: 2014-2015. Sydney Median Price: $1,250,000 Bottom of bust: 2017-2018. Sydney Median Price: $1,100,000

$60 is a great price - you are going to miss the WA boat just as you missed the boat in Sydney. You over estimate risk and underestimate positives. This is a sure fire way to lose your shirt.

Definition of a doom and gloomer from 1993
The last camp is made up of the doom-and-gloomers. Their slogan is "it's the end of the world as we know it". Right now they are convinced that debt is the evil responsible for all our economic woes and must be eliminated at all cost. Many doom-and-gloomers believe that unprecedented debt levels mean that we are on the precipice of a worse crisis than the Great Depression. The doom-and-gloomers hang on the latest series of negative economic data.

You are stark raving mad as bad as simple simon who thinks we are headed back to the deflation of the great depression. Only this time it is supposed to happen without the prior crazy inflation.

Where do you guys get this silly nonsense? Are you not sick of listening to the Armageddon spruikers yet?

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis. Topics unsuitable for the main forum may be discussed in the lounge. Accusations, attacks, abuse or threats, litigious or otherwise, directed against the forum or forum administrators aren't tolerated and will result in immediate suspension of your account for a number of days depending on the severity of the attack. No spamming or advertising in the main forum. Spamming includes repeating the same message over and over again within a short period of time. Don't post ALL CAPS thread titles. The Advertising and Promotion Subforum may be used to promote your Australian property related business or service. Active members of the forum who contribute regularly to main forum discussions may also include a link to their product or service in their signature block.
