When you're charged with lying to police (mislead by omission - not informing them when you jaywalk or speed), perhaps we'll share a prison cell and can debate the morality of our crimes.

I wonder whose crimes put most lives at risk - an interesting moral question!

Unlike yourself, I am not a self confessed liar so it's far more likely you will be the one attempting to mislead police.


Why bring up additional moral questions when we have not completed the discussion of the previous one ?

Why do you think it ok for you to mislead the bank but not for them to mislead you ?

Do you think you have breached the contract ? What rights do you think the bank has... since your in a regulated mortgage, do you think you can break any of the promises in the contract without breaching it ?

When this change came in they asked me to tell them if any personal loans were incorrectly classed as investment, which I did, and they switched them to personal for the lower rate. They also had a couple of investment loans incorrectly classed as personal. They didn't ask me about those. So they stay on the lower rate too. Worked out pretty well. :)

Are you saying you've never 'lied by omission' to the police, by failing to report an instance of your own speeding, jaywalking, parking without a ticket, using your phone while driving, not having at least one hand on the wheel, driving through an orange light when you had time to stop, tooting the horn other than as a warning, resting your elbow on the car window ledge, forgetting to dip your headlights, downloading a song/movie without paying etc?

It's not ok to mislead the police, mislead the bank, or, indeed, any other illegal activity.

You seem to think it is... so I wonder why you consider yourself above the law with regards to a legal contract...

Do you, for example, think you have the bank on a 'technicality' of some kind in the contract... or are you simply happy to break the law by conducting what is effectively fraud ?

Speeding, jaywalking, parking without a ticket, using phone while driving, not having at least one hand on the wheel, driving through an orange light when you had time to stop, tooting the horn other than as a warning, resting your elbow on the car window ledge, forgetting to dip your headlights, downloading a song/movie without paying.

If you've never confessed, that confirms you've lied by omission. You should own up to your crimes, as I have done.
