A timeshare!
That explains it all. The last piece of the bogan puzzle falls into place. What a classic sap he is. Thanks for the laugh Golly. :lol
What? You bought your gold on timeshare?? With Jimbo and Goldbug and Bullion Baron and Kris Sayce and all your other mates???

Wouldn't seem wise to me?

But Oh well, as I said, each to their own/as their own circumstances dictate I suppose.

Here's another one to wet the appetite. Interesting footnote, the Chinese journalist (who is at best a glorified spruiker with any article she's ever written) was flown by the developer to Singapore and Malaysia as a courtesy??

And Joe Hockey is struggling to find anyone, not even a glimpse of potential fraudulent behaviour. Maybe he should read a paper?

Herb are you Hockey? That would make so much sense!!!!

Sloppy Joe's just a far more naturally handsome and charming and erudite chap than me Chris - I'm sure he'd be mortified by your suggestion - LOL

The young couple in crowd who didn't want to be identified look suspiciously like mainland Chinese to me, and before you ask, yes I would absolutely know.

Another one for Joe to look at, how does a young couple afford 7.7 mil on the most exclusive property in one of the most exclusive suburbs??

Really easy stuff

Judging people by how you think they look racially, what could possibly go wrong?

Certain words like race, stereotype, aesthetics exist in the English language for a reason and contrary to your long held beliefs they are not sinister or divisive. It is a FI issue, Chinese are putting in more than 3 times the capital than any other nation and growing faster by the day. It is therefore reasonable that people would assume this person was Chinese, I however don't have to assume.

When young buyers hand over 7.7 mil and give specific direction that they not be identified in the media means there is something clearly dodgy about this, that there's something to hide.

I just google mapped where it is and it doesn't actually seem that expensive, by what I have seen in Melbourne.

In Glen Waverly, which is almost double the distance to the CBD, some 1000 or so square meter blocks with a knockdown weather board house have fetched around the 5 million mark. I do understand that it does reflect the zoning in these cases, but I actually would have thought the place would cost more. Its a hell of a nice house on 2200 meters.

“We had buyers from relatively far afield in the mix, but it has been bought by a local family.”

But be that as it may (or may not) be, dunno why a busted arsed Oz tenant who's a busted arse wanna be home owner would be busying himself looking at reports on sales of $7.7 m properties Chris?

Your practical problem/competitors is/are much more busted arsed wanna be local landlords and other busted arsed local aspiring home owners hunting/realistically aiming to acquire(?) the same busted arsed $500 k type properties you just might eventually realistically(???) aspire to own someday maybe?

herb, you are so tunnel visioned its not funny but I'm happy to point out how FI is affecting even the $500k market. You may recall a little while back I spoke about land purchases by foreign developers and then units built that would be sold to FI only with no option for locals to buy??

A closed circuit system I think I referred to it as, the Bulls thought it was hypothetical nonsense.

http://www.domain.com.au/news/overseas-buyers-invited-to-have-first-dibs-on-melbourne-developments-20150924-gjubly/

Have a read and it will become clearer.

Let's see if Scottu Morrison can do as little as Hockey did to 'identify' FI circumventing the system and purchasing illegally. How many of these apartments were listed with the FIRB?? I have a number in mind, can you guess it?

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
