One would not need to own a home or have a million dollars. It's all about choices.
And that is an incredibly shit choice.
You may as well save the $25 K and sit under a bridge and drink yourself to death

The op is not about good or bad choices. Just can it be done. None of us here on the forum would make the choice. It is still a choice that could be made

You can take that pedantic attitude but it is not helpful or even an intelligent response to the Op. On your chosen criteria I could have answered the OP with "Yes, go and shoot someone. You will be fed and sheltered."
Your response is an insult to to intelligent conversation.

The real question is how many Big Macs the million in fiat can buy. In the year 2000 at $2.59 a million AUD bought 386,000 big macs. Today at $5.30 a million AUD buys 188,000 Big Macs.

More reasonable choices. All these towns have medical facilities.

We take the boat up to the Murray 2 or 3 times a year and stay in any one of these towns. Tocumwal and Corowa are quite small but Echuca and Wodonga have just about everything you need.

Now Count i agree with you,
The issue for most humans is the lack of ability of thinking past the first separation.

1 day $3m may not buy you 1 big Mac, no matter how small it is.

Please note that no matter how many Zillions of Zimbabwe dollars you have you can not buy a big Mac in Zimbabwe.

So our houses may go "up" in south Pacific Pesos but what does it mean??

In U.S. dollars our houses have dropped over 40%, just like Foxbat said.

I think the better question would be, what is the minimum weekly income(From rent or other assets) you could live on for the rest of your life. Assuming I stay single and do not need to provide for anyone would 1000 a week be enough for me to live a happy life? It seems like a lot but when you factor in health and one off purchases like a car or a vaction suddenly you find the money skimping. A million @ 1000 per week is 1000 weeks which is under 20 years so unless you are retiring at 70 I think it would be fair to say it is not enough money for the average guy wanting to retire at 50 etc

I think with a place to live and 1500/2000 a week I would be a happy man which means I better get that garage extension approved
That is what many people are earning full time and successfully living a life so obviously it can be done. I support a wife and child and pay $420 weekly on the mortgage on $1200 net a week. Its not really that comfortable but without the mortgage i think it would be comfortable. All depends on what 'lifestyle' you want as a compremise for not having to work.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis.
