I'll risk a chinese toaster but I wouldn't wantoto risk regular rides on a chinese build train.
I wonder if that's racist? Or just prudent?

Friend of mine had his house burnt down by a Chinese dishwasher. We had ours recalled. I've just had my mobile boost recalled as it can catch on fire. I wouldn't run any appliance Chinese or otherwise without supervision. Even the non Chinese have to compete.
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Most of the components in that train will be made in china, or their materials manufactured there.

The ignorance has to run deep to think you can avoid chinese made items.

Japan have been running bullet trains (Shinkansen) since 1964 - ZERO fatalities.

Chinese have been running them for a comparatively short time - major accident with 40 deaths and many injuries.

I vote for no Chinese trains.

Would you ride a plane manufactured by China? From stolen blueprint hacked from Boeing and Airbus computers?

I would never go an flight on one of these C919's. Never.

Boeing or Airbus for me.

And whichever airline orders these will see a drop in bookings no doubt and go bankrupt. And COMAC will go bankrupt too no doubt.

Having said that, I too have no hesitation in using a Chinese toaster.

You can expect many Anglo Saxons to react and comment in this fashion. However that doesn't change the fact that China is rising and the Anglosphere is declining.

The only way the Anglosphere can maintain the current pecking order is by starting a war with China.

But they dont have the bottle for it, they know they would be destroyed in the process.

China is already ahead in many ways, and soon will surplant the Anglosphere as the premier world power.

Anglo's will just have to accept this.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis. Topics unsuitable for the main forum may be discussed in the lounge.
