Really? You will have to post a link to that one, as I am not sure what you are talking about?

Sure, I can dig it up later on the weekend for you.

Regardless, why would talking about the TTR from age 55 mean I was born in 1960?

Because in nearly all circumstances, superannuation is entirely preserved benefits, which you can only access once you reach the preservation age.

I started earning full/typical graduate money before I graduated, based on the experience I had gained before then. The car thing was just a hobby sideline, but I did make maybe $5k-$10k out of it over a few years to boost my savings. It was really payment for the labour I put into fixing up the cheapies I was able to pick up for a song at that time. The deposit was easy - I had the cash. Strangely in your view, I also knew several people my own age with similar savings, but I also knew a lot who had zip - you would have probably been in that later group I imagine had I known you then...... :re:

OK, so you earned full graduate money before you graduated. You think that is common? I would say no, especially today. I had plenty of savings when I was 22. I started work at 18. I sunk my savings into a business that ultimately failed, and I lost my savings. Like you, I should have just put them into property, and I think anyone who starts a small business in Australia, especially now, is incredibly foolish. Buy property and prosper is the obvious path to success.

Re prices - research away - I will say that the suburb my house was in is either one of the ones you have listed, or a suburb that is near one of them. Let me know how much you reckon houses in those areas were going for back then and I will assess your research skills for you. :to:

Sure.
Quote:

Do try and keep up - I never claimed I earned a years salary from the car thing - just a bit of extra savings. My TOTAL savings were about a years salary at the time I bought my first house.

So, to be clear, the house you purchased was between 4-5 times your individual salary? Whereas today it would be 4-5 times two salaries?

Re the recession, you clearly don't understand the opportunities that abound in recessions - especially with things like cars - as with many endeavours, you make your money on the BUYING,

Except property of course, that doesn't decrease in price in a recession, right skamy?

You expect my life story with all details you require in one post??? Regardless, my story might be "evolving" but only in terms of detail. Otherwise everything I have ever said about my past is entirely consitent - it seems that is just you comprehension that is the thing that is evolving....... :lol

Maybe it is both.

Sydney inner-ring property may be 'hot forever', says John McGrath

"There is just no end of demand from overseas and local buyers who want to live in those precincts," he said.

"There is sometimes a very minor [price] correction for a small amount of time but generally speaking Sydney is becoming a New York. It's a big international city and people want to live in it ... and there's very limited stock available. It's always going to be blue-chip and a market leader."

John McGrath is not stupid - I reckon he turned around the Sydney Market by telling people to wait 6 months to sell as there would be a better market then. He turned down supply and people were forced to bid up prices. Then everyone thinks they better get in before the turnaround and hey presto the mini boom we have seen in Sydney over the last two years.

Definition of a doom and gloomer from 1993
The last camp is made up of the doom-and-gloomers. Their slogan is "it's the end of the world as we know it". Right now they are convinced that debt is the evil responsible for all our economic woes and must be eliminated at all cost. Many doom-and-gloomers believe that unprecedented debt levels mean that we are on the precipice of a worse crisis than the Great Depression. The doom-and-gloomers hang on the latest series of negative economic data.

This kind of transformation will occur in every major city in Australia over the next 10 years.

I've watched Sydney for many years and where it goes others follow.

Re the preservation age, there is a thing called "Transition To Retirement Plan" which enables you to start accessing your personal super from the age of 55 - you may not be aware of this? I plan to make use of it when I hit 55 as a part of my early retirement plan. From 60 you can basically do what you want with your super - yes.

:lol You took 7 months to dig all that up??? Maybe I've got myself my very-own little online stalker now? :re:

Still not sure what your big issue us? I said I'd heard about TTR being available from age 55, and said I was planning to take advantage of it. I didn't realise at the time I wrote that that the age changed to 60 based on year of birth, so yes the info you posted is correct, and I was wrong to state that I could start TTR @ age 55. But I still NEVER claimed that I was born before 1960, which is what I was asking you to show evidence of - you haven't, you've just shown that I mistakenly thought I could TTR from 55. What you inferred from that is your problem - you never inquired directly about *my* age or year of birth.

Also, I know you have failed miserably in so many ways in your life, especially financially by the sounds of it, but that's no reason to be such an abusive dislikeable person .....

OK, so it takes you 7 months to admit you made a mistake.

Why would I enquire about your age when I can infer it from the information you supplied? My inference is only as faulty as your information is erroneous.

I was being polite, given you are such an arrogant c^nt. I have plenty of reasons to be abusive where you are concerned, and I can switch to that if you like?

No, it took me only a few minutes to admit a mistake after reading your post - You are the pillock who took 7 months to dig up another 18 month old post that I didn't even remember writing until you just pointed it out! :re:

It really burns you that so many people who you consider yourself "superior" to, have done so much better in life than you have, doesn't it? Suck it up, princess. :lol

No, but I do know what they call people who don't understand the difference between an inference and an assumption.

I highly doubt you have done anything better than I in your entire life. You are a mediocre, bumbling grinder.
