At least we have people like Shorten.

Prayers in Lakemba and Bankstown during Eid al-Adha in Sydney. Eid al-Adha, also known as 'Festival of the Sacrifice' is a Muslim holiday that celebrates the prophet Ibrahim for his willingness to sacrifice his own son at the order of Allah.

Quote:

Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has told Australian Muslims to stand up against 'bigots' and called on politicians to show caution before denouncing the cultures of others.
Mr Shorten joined Premier Mike Baird and federal Immigration Minister Scott Morrison at celebrations and prayers to mark the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha in Lakemba on Saturday morning.

Ask shorten if he would think it is ok for a Muslim to sacrifice their son for Allah since he was celebrating at a holiday centred around willingly child sacrifice. Holding up a cafe pales in comparison.

Two women have gotten out, that's five in all who have managed to get away.

I think this guy may be a desperado rather than an organised terrorist.

The three that came out and rushed at police weren't controlled, and police basically turned their backs on them.

There are obvious lessons not learnt by our cops.

I'm not happy with their tactics and training.

Yes from the footage it looked uncoordinated and amateurish.

This is bullish for Sydney house prices. :lol
Common sense is a curse - those who have it need to suffer dealing with those who don't have it.

Yes but only houses with a bomb shelter and bullet proof front doors.

Very bearish for chocolate shops though.

So many cops milling around, any exchange of fire is likely to result in unnecessary police d eaths..
They already have a history of shooting their mates when the shit hits the fan.

I watched about 15 police standing around the front of Hotel Chambers being briefed. No one should be entering the operational zone if they don't already have a strictly defined purpose and know exactly why they are there.

Command should be aware of this as terror groups will be closely scrutinising their tactics.

Next time it might not be a lone nutter to stupid to get a hostage to close and disable the front door after two had already escaped through it.

Zero is coming...

If this gentleman is not happy here in Australia why does he simply buy an air ticket and go home??

No need to create a big fuss.

Just go home to his ancestral home and put his feet up.

Take it easy.

No need in insult his hosts and embarrass himself with his bad behaviour.

I have to agree Peter, possibly some dude with mental health issues who has jumped onto the cause. The more I hear about this event the more it appears to be one man who has jumped onto an ideology rather than a man who is working for a specific organisation or group.

I hope it fizzles out, they negotiate him out with everyone (but him) going home safe 😦

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
