I think it is very hard for new Australians including me to grasp Aboriginal culture and the dream-time and the like. I have found it difficult but when I have met people, read about it or been at presentations that attempt to explain it I can certainly respect it. Skyscrapers and cathedral towers may be more visually stunning to us than say a fresh water spring or a rocky out crop in natural bushland but that doesn't mean that their culture is in any way lesser than ours.
I would imagine that the first Australians would have given up on this notion within a week of the new Australians getting in.
So you think the founders of this nation were terrorists eh? But you're happy to enjoy the fruits of their labours - hypocrite. The solution is obvious - piss the F off. Seriously - piss off. The last thing this country needs is more guilt ridden bleeting hearts who hate and attack the founders and foundations of this nation.
Do you think in todays world, with Australias massive resources known about sitting here unprotected that every country in the world would leave a bunch of hunter gatherers in peace because it is the nice thing to do? If you answer no the only question left is who you would have preferred to colonise Australia. Well, who would you have preferred to colonise Australia?
As a good cultural relativist you struggle to understand other cultures because all cultures are equal right? To help you along here's some information about aboriginals you might not find in the history books:
Were you born here or just descended from the UK ?
I think your pretty old herb, so you wont have to see the worst of it all.
Do you live in Sydney herb ?
It has become obvious that without high immigration, our society very well could tear itself apart relatively quickly as we squabble over financial/money/economic/wealth/'poverty'/taxation/redistribution/work/productivity/lifestyle/welfare/health/housing/generational type matters.
Whilst with high immigration, our society's problems definitely have the potential to be comparatively minor. (Plus definitely cause me and mine a shitload less grief personally.)
So Yep, I'm a convert to the high immigration/Big Australia camp - Congrats and thanks for your part in helping me to finally decide.

It's common knowledge that cannibalism was practiced in many parts of the world and it doesn't make it right for the English to shoot local Aboriginals and to take their land away from them as they did.
So yes the early settlers were terrorists in the eyes of the Aboriginals.
In fact I would call you a terrorist as well based on your extreme views.

Could not answer the simple questions herb ?
I will assume the answers then.....
Your population argument towards financial benefits is a myth, and also severly flawed.
The first is that if you cannot control things properly, with a certain amount, how could bringing more and more resolve such a problem.
I will concede that in a growing and prosperous economy, more people will bring more fininacial growth and benefit for all in increased tax revenue and the like to improve and grow sevices. And would also Improve on the growth and price of houses in an inflating economy.
But when the economy is falling and jobs are falling, bringing in more and more and not having the jobs for them is only a further burden on the economy and tax payer and services. It just means you have more unemployed people that the taxpayers and government have to fork out for. No rocket science herb.
They take jobs and then make it harder for those already here, Australians....
The second part of your mythical argument can be shown in the US. Where they have a simliar land mass of Australia but a population of over 300 million. This huge and growing population did not stop their economy or house prices declining so they are now much cheaper than they were years ago, despite all the efforts to keep them inflated and having rates at zero now into its SEVENTH year.
It shows what a croc your stement is. You also discard the fact ,that in a falling economy, more immigration is nothing but a further burden and hinderance on the economy and taxpayer.
* I've stated where I live multiple times on this site.
* I've stated that my mob go back a long way in Oz multiple times on this site.
* I've stated I have younger family members I intend to leave my assets to when I drop dead multiple times on this site. (Interpret that how you will - LOL!)
Ignorant lazy dumb fuck ...
PS: You wouldn't happen ta be another one of them tired Socialist type free loaders by any chance would you? (But just on the off chance you'd like to know that about me also - No I'm not ... )
Leodwald of Portsburgh 21 Dec 2014, 01:30 PM So at least tell me the benefits of multiculturalism using some quantifiable metric and not the usual multiculturalist fluff - 'vibrant' and 'diverse'. Tell me the benefits to the average Australian. I'm open to changing my mind if someone can show me the benefits of multiculturalism out weigh the harm it does to my fellow Australians and my country, until then I see it as displacing and replacing our lineages and ethnicity in our own land. A folly of historical proportions.
A Lurker:
"Studies conducted in several United States cities by Florida (2002) and Saxenian (2011) found that this intermingling of different skills and perspectives has a positive correlation with business, technological and cultural innovation. They also found that immigrant entrepreneurs play a vital role in directing trade and investment through their home countries, thereby increasing cross-cultural markets, and directly improving the economy of their country of settlement.
An Access Economics Fiscal Impact Model, commissioned by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, examines the impact of migration on the Commonwealth budget. Its 2009-10 figures show that the net economic contribution of around $880 million in the first year of arrival will rise to about $1-2 billion after 10 years. This demonstrates that as immigrants settle into their new home their capacity to build our economic prosperity increases.
This effect is supplemented by findings that the second generation of migrants has, on average, a higher educational attainment, higher employment and lower unemployment rates than the children of Australian-born parents. Furthermore, 49% of all persons holding higher degrees were born overseas.
These findings underline the distinct immigration trend over the last two to three decades of more skilled and highly educated migrants entering Australia. In part, this has been because the need for unskilled labour that was seen as imperative for nation building in the post-war years has diminished. Those migrants who did enter Australia in that post-war period, however, made an indisputable contribution to the infrastructure development of NSW which has helped fuel economic growth from that time forward.
The current preference for skilled migration has also helped to somewhat immunise the economy against the Global Financial Crisis. Between June 2008 and June 2010, recent migrants accounted for 63% of job growth during that period with 79.3% workforce participation rates for those who had arrived within the six months prior, compared to 65.3% for the national average. Skilled migrants averaged 95% participation."

Poor old Closed-world.
Doesn't realise his religion has taken canabalism to a whole ritualised level, not just combining it with sacrifice, but sacrificing and eating your God.
That's seriously weird shit right there!
