Wind farms produced nearly a fifth less power in the second quarter of this year, despite the installation of hundreds of new turbines, because it wasn't as windy as usual.
Statistics published yesterday showed that the amount of electricity produced by offshore wind farms was down 22 per cent in the three months to June, compared with a year earlier.
And the same data showed almost as big a fall in output from onshore wind farms, down nearly 17 per cent. Both drops came despite huge amounts of new turbines brought online.

Skamy?
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Now imagine we actually had to rely on this branch of renewables to power a third of industrial output and power a third of our cars? Is it any wonder we still burn 85 million barrels a day of oil, after 40 years of rhetoric from world leaders about a transition to renewables?

I love renewables, our offgrid home is powered entirely by solar. But I will tell you one thing that is obvious to me now. They are not renewables, solar panels degrade and need replacing every 20 odd years. Regulators blow up and batteries fail. They are about as renewable as my laptop and I have to renew them all in the end.
Shadow was hopelessly wrong about the Gold Bull Market.
What else is he wrong about?

Appreciate the honesty goldbug. Perhaps now you can understand why climate change skeptics are so, well, skeptical.

Wind energy is not renewable, in fact it is worse for the environment than the wonderful CO2 that plants love.

Surely you can believe in climate change, and also believe at the same time that "renewables" are grossly inadequate and can't replace fossil fuels....

this is a pretty bleak position, but its a common one in the "doomer" camp.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
