Nothing about what Aimee earns. I doubt Patrick would have qualified for loans on these places with only his income. Maybe Peter can comment.
Honestly zaph I hear so many stories like this and I have doubts about many of them, they usually leave out one or two important facts that make sense of the scenario - like a parental guarantor.
Who knows - insufficient information to determine.
Any expressed market opinion is my own and is not to be taken as financial advice
Have you had any hiccups or surprises in the process so far?
Not really. The extra rates and water bills aren’t appreciated; we didn’t really budget for these to start with!
I thought he said he read a book?
Matthew, 30 Jan 2016, 09:21 AM Your simplistic view is so flawed it is not worth debating. The current oversupply will be swallowed in 12 months. By the time dumb shits like you realise this prices will already be rising.
It appears anyone who stands up and has a go is torn down by the "how dare they try and be successful".
They might make mistakes as they are young, it might also be the best decisions they make. I would certainly prefer to have children who think like this then those who just bum around for years wondering what to do with myself.
What if the parents did help them, we just had a thread saying how bad baby boomers are for not giving inheritance to the children. Here we may have a situation where they had parents helping them. Great, good on them. Well done.
This forum sounds more and more like a bunch of cranky old people fighting over the last cockie. Be happy for them, celebrate there success instead of trying to tear them down.

It's just a giant crock of shit as far as journalism goes - you could fire 10 cannons through this story and still not hit anything. It's just a sloppy story. Maybe that's the negativity you refer to?

The bloke does a bit of part time at Woolies, stays with his parents board and rent free, borrows a shit load of money and buys three properties, didn't realise that he had to pay rates and water rates and you think he is a genius.
Says it all really.

Is a slogan that originated by a company called Nike back in 1988 in an advert meeting, it aims to inspire determination & to be challenged..that there can be New possibilities.
It's message is to not let trivial get in your way what your goal is. It did max the sales of sportswear fashion.
Sometimes I look at those words on my key ring tag & there's no fear.

If I was your kids, I'd hack the crystal on your hand and send you to carousel asap.

I'm sure you would hate freeloaders, & if you are a parent you honestly would want to do the best you can to help them out.
Those who are vey fortunate & uderstand youhave made an effort in improving themselves do reciprocate back when the parents get to the elderly yrs ... & if you do luv them you give back with no hesitation.
When everything is done for you ..you will never ever understand & appreciate the risk & benefits in financial decision making, that's when one is a spoilt leech & sucks the life out of those aound them.
There's a difference to rich arswipe vulture freeloaders who have done absolutely nothing on their own as opposed to those who yes have had unique support in property but went through the understanding of doin it for themselves to do stuff on their own.
Newjerk? can you try harder than dig up another person's blog. My first promo was with Billabong and my name in English is modified with a T, am Perth born but also lived in Sydney to make my $$ It's Absolutely Fabulous if it includes brilliant locations, & high calibre tenants..what more does one want? Understand the power of the two "P"" or be financially challenged Even better when there is family who are property mad and one is born in some entitlements.....Understand that beautiful women are the exhibitionists we crave attention, whilst hot blooded men are the voyeurs ... A stunning woman can command and takes pleasure in being noticed. Seems not too many understand what it means to hold and own props and get threatened by those who do. Banks are considered to be law abiding and & rather boring places yeah not true . A bank balance sheet will show capital is dwarfed by their liabilities this means when a portions of loans is falling its problems for the bank.
He's read a book and decided he wants to retire a multi millionaire at 37.
He missed the chapter about rates and water rates though "The extra rates and water bills aren’t appreciated; we didn’t really budget for these to start with"
So he has leveraged up and is on the hook for 500k, has no full time job and hasn't actually made any money and yet he is advising everyone else to "just do it".
Brilliant.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
