I can't really see an end to the population ponzi despite reading every day about overflowing trains, schools, hospitals, roads and childcare centres. Might see a fall in temporary workers and 457s. There is plenty of talk about trying to treat the symptoms of crowded cities but little mention of the cause although people do seem to be waking up a bit. It's unfortunate that racist overtones affect the debate about whether the costs of high immigration outweigh the benefits.
next?? The wealth of Australians is contained not in their houses but in the believe in the value of their houses. If that gets a shake. Peter
You mean it's a ponzi? We all know eventually their number comes up!
I recall all the pundits "believing" in overvalued shares 7 years ago. The funny thing is after the crash many years later they are still viewed with suspicion when their fundamentals are better.
Looks like Aus property is gearing up for a sizable correction!
The next trick of our glorious banks will be to charge us a fee for using net bank!!! You are no longer customer, you are property!!!
Even if there are no jobs, an immigrant from India or Africa will stay in Australia until they qualify for citizenship then get welfare as they will be living much better here than back over there.
That is the reason they come because of the generous welfare system.
Yeah I think it would be highly unlikely that we would not fill our immigration quota. There are people prepared to pay 5mil to get residency here.
and others prepared to risk their lives in leaky boats to come here.
We could allow 1 million per annum if they wanted to. They would come. I think that the present quota is limited because they know the infrastructure and housing is already at it's limits.
Any expressed market opinion is my own and is not to be taken as financial advice

Oh yeah people will keep coming and coming to Aus despite the high cost of living, falling living standards and rising unemployment! Sorry to burst your bubble but the things that once made Australia so attractive are fast running out. See what happens as the US and UK recover while Australia goes into recession. It will be rats leaving a sinking ship
and others prepared to risk their lives in leaky boats to come here.

Just bring more. The governments answer to pump a ponzi and their pay packets, at the expense of our lovely way of life.
As long as Peter thinks something might pump his house price, he is all for it, don't worry about bombings or beheadings, the hatred towards you and your family, the complete disreguard for our law yet wish to impose their own on others. Dont worry about how your wife or daughter may be spoken to in the street, or that ten would not bat an eyelid to kick your skull in. Dont worry about political assinations, what has been bought here ,Peter. Dont worry about police staions being shot up, another first thanks to immigration. And you know the one about bacon in my burger.
Riots in the streets, burning of our flags at RSL clubs, the list goes on.
The whole thing has and is, the demise of Australia. Will the government do the right thing and stop letting terriots and scum into our country, or just sit back and jibber shit and ultimately do nothing about it.
This is now a problem the whole western world has bought upon itself. Though complete ignorance, and ofcourse dogooder nobheads who have ultimately destroyed what we once had because of their blind ignorance.
We have bought the culture of death and destruction to ours shores. Australia was a much nicer and safer place before this horrible mistake was made.
