Is that top picture taken in Rockhampton? I have never been up there myself, flown over it several times going and coming from more interesting destinations though.
Direct flight to Smolensk?

Think you'll find it's a pretty safe bet that pic wasn't taken in Rocky mate - But would it make a difference to you/what difference would it make to you if it was? Or are you just attempting to improve your general knowledge of Australian geography ...

If I posted a copy of a title to a property that I no longer own, what would it prove?

But you said you had the original - not a copy

I have the original from my last place and it looks a lot more ornate than that. Fancy envelope and everything.

I just stated that I still had the deed as a way of explaining that the paper itself means nothing.

But then I suppose that was too much for you to get your head around.

I guess you are to stupid to get your head around what I said here

Either a BS story or proof that title documents aren't worth the paper they are written on.

I doubt that the document you have has any legal standing.

CT's are written on parchment which is a cross between paper and cardboard. Here is a fairly recent CT from Qld.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/46/St_John%27s_Wood_Hill_Original_Certificate_of_Title.pdf

You will notice that it has a full plan of the allotment, a legal description of the parcel of land, and those stamps below are the dealings recorded on that title. Earlier titles were much the same but contained a lot more Calligraphy in the early English style for legal documents.

They were a thing if beauty. What you got was probably a search on title showing you as the owner and the title unencumbered. Technically just as good though.

Quite true. A birth certificate carries more points than a drivers licence.

I am completely aware of that and I have never stated otherwise. FYI, my copy is heavy parchment, it has a wax seal, and includes a set of hand drafted original plans along with other documents such as details of restrictive covenants and so on.

The house was built in 1962 and I was the third owner. As I paid cash for the property, I was was handed the deed on settlement of purchase.

It wasn't my intention to keep the deed but when I sold, the settlement agent never requested it.

Times have changed and possession of a title deed is not proof of ownership.

I am not sure why Frank got his knickers in such a knot at my saying I have a title deed for a property that I do not own? I stated the circumstances as well.

My assertion about birth certificates and ID is that if you go back 30 or 40 years, a birth certificate was proof of identity in itself. There were no photo drivers licences and only a minority had passports. Now a birth certificate is only a supporting document.

Fair enough, I'm not familiar with the legal operational requirements in WA - I have no reason to disbelieve what you have said.

Well there is no one document that satisfies the 100 point requirements. My own preference is for a passport or a drivers licence because they are a photo ID with a signature,

Funny thing is, back in the early 1980s you could go to BD&M in Qld and pull anybody's birth certificate no worries. Now that is by no means so easy.

Same in England. You could look up deaths and identify a person that was born around the same time as you and died shortly after birth, obtain a copy of their birth certificate, get a national insurance number and become them if you were that way inclined. Not sure if that loophole has been closed these days.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
