Obviously, the same way as decent paying communications jobs in the Labor party.
This is going to be ugly.
I feel sorry for a lot of people in Australia. Most of them have no idea what a recession looks like and does to people.
Here here high calibre projects are still transforming Perth...

Newjerk? can you try harder than dig up another person's blog. My first promo was with Billabong and my name in English is modified with a T, am Perth born but also lived in Sydney to make my $$ It's Absolutely Fabulous if it includes brilliant locations, & high calibre tenants..what more does one want? Understand the power of the two "P"" or be financially challenged Even better when there is family who are property mad and one is born in some entitlements.....Understand that beautiful women are the exhibitionists we crave attention, whilst hot blooded men are the voyeurs ... A stunning woman can command and takes pleasure in being noticed. Seems not too many understand what it means to hold and own props and get threatened by those who do. Banks are considered to be law abiding and & rather boring places yeah not true . A bank balance sheet will show capital is dwarfed by their liabilities this means when a portions of loans is falling its problems for the bank.
I think we had the entire graduate engineer population of Ireland living in Perth a year or so ago.
They even exported their tinkers over here to tarmac drives and fix roofs for $20k a go.
Northbridge will be a lot less bloody without them.
Matthew, 30 Jan 2016, 09:21 AM Your simplistic view is so flawed it is not worth debating. The current oversupply will be swallowed in 12 months. By the time dumb shits like you realise this prices will already be rising.
There are none for locals - they exclude locals on the basis that they want people "with oil and gas experience" so that they could import cheaper 457s.
Now the game is up everyone is going back home to the uk and the locals are wandering where the jobs are?
"He said the current setup created an imbalance in the market and unfairly skewed first home buyers towards new builds."
Wasn't that the point?

Perth house sales during February were down on the same time last year.
Turnover was down around 16% on last year, to 1,870 reported sales, according to REIWA.
The median house price eased by around 1%, or $5,000 to $547,000.
The REIWA president David Airey said reiwa.com data showed that sales lifted 12% in February after the festive season downturn.
“Given that sales were down by 15% in January and now by a similar figure in February, it’s clear that the market is showing a trend of slow-down that is apparent even at a time when seasonal summer sales are usually stronger,” Airey said.
Listings for sale increased by 4% in February to 13,456 properties.
The rental market showed no sign of change in February, with the exception of the City of Belmont where median rents lifted by $20 to $450 per week.
Perth’s median rent is unchanged at $440 per week and data shows a vacancy rate of just over 4%, Airey said.
There were 6,251 rental homes looking for tenants in February, up by almost 30% on the same time last year.
Yup, socialising the other night with a large group. Most are not politically clued in at all.
But the idea that we are heading into a downturn is now mainstream.
Unless you're skamy of course.
The fact is that the worst of the downturn from the CAPEX boom hit in 2013. It caused a slow down in prices rise and no crash. It hit rentals because rentals had been inflated by the boom. House prices were not inflated by the boom, they are still dragging their heels at 7-8 year old prices.
The market may be slow but good houses are selling at reasonable prices. According to REIWA there was some signs of life last week. We are still seeing a pick up in listings but it is actually being balanced a bit by more sales. This is not a crashing market - it is a hesitant market. People know they have jobs with great wages they know house prices are way down on their usual price to incomes and they have watched Sydneys recent market. Some will remember 2006 and know that 8 years stagnation in a market is a long time. Others will worry about the end of the CAPEX boom and low iron ore prices.
Last week 770 people took a chance on buying now, these numbers are not far down on what we have been seeing since mid last year. These people did not buy in ignorance of the doom and gloom headliners. They just did not exaggerate them the way that you do. Even the worst headlines do not predict price drops that would make up for a years rent paying down a mortgage at these low interest rates.

NEW 12 March 2015
In this week’s Perth Market Snapshot, reiwa.com data shows there was a healthy 26 per cent rebound in reported sales activity last week, taking volumes back to mid-February levels.

Definition of a doom and gloomer from 1993 The last camp is made up of the doom-and-gloomers. Their slogan is "it's the end of the world as we know it". Right now they are convinced that debt is the evil responsible for all our economic woes and must be eliminated at all cost. Many doom-and-gloomers believe that unprecedented debt levels mean that we are on the precipice of a worse crisis than the Great Depression. The doom-and-gloomers hang on the latest series of negative economic data.
