This is just a symptom of the mind boggling stupidity of today's Western media. They think the entire planet is some sort children's playground where nothing untoward should ever happen?
There are certainly other bits of the world where pretty much every bit of 'debris' would be long gone by now Count - Including the clothing for obvious reasons. Even stuff as basic as a cardboard box to be worn over one's head to keep the rain off in the absence of owning an umbrella. And panelling stripped from the aircraft would be used for roofing in dwellings. That is all just a part of the world we live in.
"On Monday I suggested Ukraine should hold a plebiscite on separation, to allow the country to shed Russian influence by allowing any region contiguous with Russia to vote to return to Russia if it wished. A plebiscite would be an aggressive form of democracy. It would call Putin’s bluff."
It's Putin's strategy for the conflict to go on. The problem arose because the Russians found themselves marginalized in Ukrainian society. It must be remember that majority of Ukrainians were originally opposed to closer ties with the West.
At the same time ethnic Russians and Russian leaning Ukrainians would loath Putin. But as the desperate Ukrainian government imposes increasing force against them, they'll pushed into Putin's camp where at least they aren't being marginalized for being Russian.
Ukraine is an improvised weak state that falling apart in more ways than one, the government unable to control the pro Western anti Russian fascist element. This is the opportunity that Putin is exploiting. He has the cat in the bag unless there is heavy Western intervention. And whatever Putin is, he has been power a long time and is more experienced than his Western counterparts.
The next trick of our glorious banks will be to charge us a fee for using net bank!!! You are no longer customer, you are property!!!
I personally concur with Sheehan's conclusion: "On Monday I suggested Ukraine should hold a plebiscite on separation, to allow the country to shed Russian influence by allowing any region contiguous with Russia to vote to return to Russia if it wished. A plebiscite would be an aggressive form of democracy. It would call Putin’s bluff." http://www.smh.com.au/comment/mh17-vladimir-putin-will-lose-ukraine-through-stupidity-20140723-zw1bb.html#ixzz38LHyloFx Though let any such plebiscites take place after the MH17 investigation is my initial thought at on separation, to allow the country to shed Russian influence by allowing any region contiguous with Russia to vote to return to Russia if it wished. A plebiscite would be an aggressive form of democracy. It would call Putin’s bluff."
I couldnt read Sheehan Herbs, got to the obligatory Oi Oi Oi sports focus and just couldn't get any further. Did see the word ' imperialist' embedded in there somewhere. I assume he wasnt talking about the Neo Nazi Ukrain government recently installed by America? Not one mention of that in the Australian media! Why?
I guess the MSM focusses on what sells newspapers/subscriptions here maybe Golly?
And until MH17 went down, the situation in Ukraine wasn't a big seller of same in Oz it would seem.
It still doesn't really seem to be - Though dead and even stolen Australian bodies seem to work for them. Plus reporting on Tony yelling loudly and righteously (heroically even?) regarding same.
So yep, I reckoned Sheehan at least had a crack at doing some sort of a busted arsed analysis - Right or wrong who knows?
But with me tending to agree with his actual conclusion in this case regardless of the specifics of his analysis.
A Professional Demographer to an amateur demographer:"negative natural increase will never outweigh the positive net migration"
"murderers", "barbarians!". It seems the same attributes were never applied to the Americans when they accidentally shot down the Iranian airliner. Some people are more equal than others.
The popular press is now pure dedicated evil. It's not sensible to fly passenger jets through war zones. If tip toeing through the tulips, I avoid battlefields.

This is a terrible idea.
Not only can no plebiscite take place freely and fairly due to Russia's presence in Eastern Ukraine it is as you say an active war zone.
The other side of the coin is, you are setting a precedent. Hitler used the same excuses in Austria, "the people wanted to join Germany". Where does it end?
Should parts of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova all having Russian populations. Why not hold plebiscites in all these regions to see if they want to join Russia.
Why stop at Russia, perhaps the Chinese should do the same. The Germans could also have another crack after all they have lost huge parts of what used to be Germany to Poland (East Prussia amongst many others).
Russia should do what it tells the Americans to do all the time, mind your own business and not to interfere on internal matters of the Ukraine. Of course they only say that when it suits them and never practice it.
I see a situation developing like Syria, the civil war will intensify due to Russian support. A full blown civil war will erupt in a nation of nearly 60 million people. Either this or the Ukraine Government crushes the separatist which will invite a full Russian intervention and perhaps war between Russian and the Ukraine.
I guess the video footage showing bodies being looted by the rebels was also bad reporting rather then telling the truth as it is.
Hillsborough disaster the press also claimed that looting was happening when it wasn't. It's a cheap trick.
There is so much bullshit involved with this. Christ - if a disaster occurred like that anywhere like that anywhere the locals would struggled to deal with it.
Not getting away from the initial action that causes it, but the aftermath has been very one sided. You would almost think they have an agenda.

Todays Sydney Daily Terrorgraph has rwo stories on the far sides of pages 4 and 5.
Page 4: Unarmed officers could be in danger, Ian McPhedran Page 5 Victims credit cards and phones stolen and used, Simon Benson, Chairs Miranda, Matthew Bens.
The first article states Australian Federal Police will be unprotected, the second, that Abbott had told "Putin of his plans to send in an Austalian AFP team supported by troops and had secured an adherent of the plan".
I have noted previously the more names in a Daily Telegraph byline the less accuracy one can expect.
"....but a new emergency has emerged with reports credit cards and mibile phones looted from the crag site by Russian backed rebels have been used and possibly defrauded.
In what would be a new low in an already heartless desecration of the site, it has been reported calls to the phones of the deaf have ben sharers by thieves".
Disgusting reportage. No proof tended whatsoever. Typical Daily Tellegraph shit.

Well their emotive rubbish is obviously having the desired effect. It has you still embroiled and posting about it 20 pages later...
It's just a plane crash, it hasn't effected you personally, get over it and move on with your life.
Shadow was hopelessly wrong about the Gold Bull Market. What else is he wrong about?

Australian Federal Police wouldn't be sent in unarmed, hell, they patrol our airports and carry guns, why would they be sent to Ukraine without them? It's daft, stupid propaganda (reporting).
