I wonder if the cost of booze will go down in Perth now ?
Small bars will be giving it away.

Now you are talking, fire up that socialist zeal.
We can produce iron ore at a loss just like the big kids.
Oh and shitbox cars.

But Pine Creek is a resilient town. It was founded on the mining industry and the railways, and it will continue to be a mining town."It has a good heart and a strong community. "

Well lets just hope the good people of pine creek had the sense to save a goodly portion of all that money that came their way over the boom years. That they didn't piss it all up against the wall and then take on a mountain of debt besides, like nearly every other Australian of means has done.

How well paid baby boomers and the generation following them were fooled into borrowing hundreds of grand each and spending it on holidays new cars and home renovations is just beyond me. It speaks of a shallowness of character, a vanity that borders on the pathetic. To borrow decades into your future income for the sake of impressing your neighbors with your new car and holiday stories, or for the sake of having a new kitchen with a little more elbow room and a rangehood when it's obvious you will be retiring and going onto a much reduced income is foolish in the extreme.

The most satisfying aspect of my financial life is updating my private finacials spreadsheet every month and seeing Zero liability in the debts column. I don't even know what interest rates are these days. I couldn't care less.
Shadow was hopelessly wrong about the Gold Bull Market.
What else is he wrong about?

Smart man,
Unfortunately i do not fit into your category of no debt.
Our group Debt is running at about 12% of total assets.
Average interest rate we would be paying is at say 6.5%.
I think variable interest rates would be around 4.8% now but i have some fixed.
So average would be around that 6.5%.
Anyway good luck.

Thought the bounce would have had more legs. Oh well.
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Wait the coal producers need subsidising to.

The car industry has it's hand out.

Wait, no, Foxbat just told me the prostitution industry needs subsidising.

The rub and tug girls are not pulling the big money they used to. Need government subsidy to carry on.

:bh:

The end is near.

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.
