What is the origin of the false belief—constantly repeated—that almost all scientists agree about global warming?

I'm sorry 888, but you have still failed to offer any credible source contesting the fact of AGW. The scientific body you quote is very prestigious but that does not disqualify them from errors. What you are inferring in fact, is a form of logic that says that errors made in earlier work disqualifies all later work. This is like saying that modern atomic theory is a lie because the Thomson Model back in the early 1900's had the electrons embedded with the protons in the nucleus. Yes he was wrong, but the atomic model was right, and some years later Rutherford with better experimental techniques corrected the earlier model.

Please feel free to reply to the offer in my ealier post about evidence from recognised scientific bodies that counter claims AGW is a reality, but I will not engage in any more bootless arguments on the subject.

Scientists questioning the accuracy of IPCC climate projections

Scientists in this section have made comments that it is not possible to project global climate accurately enough to justify the ranges projected for temperature and sea-level rise over the next century. They may not conclude specifically that the current IPCC projections are either too high or too low, but that the projections are likely to be inaccurate due to inadequacies of current global climate modeling.

Scientists arguing that the cause of global warming is unknown

Scientists in this section have made comments that no principal cause can be ascribed to the observed rising temperatures, whether man-made or natural. Their views on climate change are usually described in more detail in their biographical articles.

Scientists arguing that global warming will have few negative consequences

Scientists in this section have made comments that projected rising temperatures will be of little impact or a net positive for human society and/or the Earth's environment. Their views on climate change are usually described in more detail in their biographical articles.

Mate, if you twits was to believe in man-made global warming, believe.
I'll believe in science, the influence of the SUN, solar activity, and cycles that have happened before. With solar activity weakening, we'll have global cooling through the 2020's and 2030's. Just liek the solar minimums of the Dalton Minimum 1790-1830, or Maunder Minimum 1650-1700's.

You can believe alarmist predictions that fail to eventuate. Organisations rely of government grant money. What better want to keep the gravy train going than man-made global warming alarm. Fools. Anyway , see you fools. I'm off. :bye: - for you Alex!:-)

That's an excellent video, it parodies the alarmists nicely. Sums up the situation very nicely! The climate panickers seeking to avoid a real debate on the subject and instead focusing on ridiculing anyone who challenges them! Loved how they regurgitate the debunked 97 percent consensus myth too, and also said the earth's still warming! It's textbook alarmist tactics 101, claim consensus, claim the science is settled (ignoring all their wrong predictions so far), pretend warming's still happening, then poke fun at the skeptics and avoid debate! Great satire!

What is the origin of the false belief—constantly repeated—that almost all scientists agree about global warming?

hardly an acknowledgement that global warming doesnt exist. ( only 4% say its not real ) And those that believe its purely natural are in the minority.

Dave, you don't like people poking fun at you in this debate, but like poking fun at grown men who still believe in father christmas, or that the earth is flat, its hard not to at the climate change deniers. You can come up with a short list of scientists who either deny or who have doubts, but ignore the thousands that are convinced. Can you name one national body of scientist in the world that isn't convinced? Just one? You can't because there isn't one. Of course the consensus is not 100%, but near enough (despite your denials even about that) for it to be a genuine consensus. There are scientists who deny the benefits of vaccinations, but they are in a tiny minority and we don't take them seriously either.
