No, always called it climate change, global warming is just one topic within the subject. There are other topics, like global cooling, global dimming, ozone depletion and so on.

Like electromagnetism is a topic, within the subject of Physics.

You know that what the Labor government set up was just an interim program, it was eventually meant to move to a market, similar to the stock market, that was tacked onto the european system?

You could buy a plot of land and grow trees on it, selling the carbon credits to companies so they could use your trees to offset their production of carbon.

Prehistoric man had nothing to do with the 'carbon tax' as you call it, the science has only began seeing the problems our prolific use of natural resources could cause to the planet that we rely on to live in the last 30 years or so.

This is just you, not understanding and throwing shit around again.

Seeing as the average tem is -28 or -19 during the day. Lots of sun and a nasty arctic wind blowing that could tear your face off.

This is a message from my uncle in Thunder Bay Canada,
I asked him again about global warming.

He said if i keep mentioning that term "global warming" he will not talk to me any more, so can you global warmers please stop talking shit for a while.

And he does not want to pay any taxes to make things colder either.

So sorry guys the tax has to go.

Peter

This is a message from my uncle in Thunder Bay Canada,
Average, over what time period?

It is winter in Canada at the moment, are you expecting heat waves?

Thunder bay is 4,637 km from the north pole, Perth is 6,465 km from the south pole, the difference is about the distance from Perth to Adelaide.

Surely you're not expecting it to be warmer that close to a polar weather pattern.

How likely:How soon:How severe:
Extreme wind chill this morning.

A cold front from Northern Manitoba has ushered in a fresh shot of cold Arctic air. These cold temperatures combined with north winds of 15 to 30 kilometres per hour are generating wind chill values ranging from minus 40 to minus 45 this morning.

At these extreme wind chill values frostbite may occur on exposed skin in less than 10 minutes.

Wind chills will improve later today as temperatures rise to the minus mid twenties under the strengthening late February sun.

wind chill warning

I thought one claim by the warmers was that the Greenland ice sheet was gone??
Or was that all hot air.

It's a scam man.
The tax grab gave it away.

Peter

A con always involves removing wealth from fools.

My uncle is saying it has not been this cold since the 1970's.
90% of lake Superior is frozen.
An ice age builds through the ice not melting in the summer.
So now that the world is entering an ice age lets see what tax they dream up.

Again, you're mistaking weather for climate.

You could buy a plot of land and grow trees on it, selling the carbon credits to companies so they could use your trees to offset their production of carbon.

I'm afraid that sort of concept is virtual nonsense.

Most of the carbon is locked away in rock formations. Growing a few trees will make bugger all difference. Within a reasonable period of time the tree will die and rot losing its minimal carbon inventory into the the hydrosphere. A carbon sink would be better such as a peat bog.
The next trick of our glorious banks will be to charge us a fee for using net bank!!!

The World's Top Scientists: Take Action Now On Climate Change

Two of the world’s most prestigious science academies say there’s clear evidence that humans are causing the climate to change. The time for talk is over, says the US National Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society, the national science academy of the UK.

The two released a paper, Climate Change: Evidence and Causes, written and reviewed by leading experts in both countries, lays out which aspects of climate change are well understood and where there is still uncertainty and a need for more research.

Sir Paul Nurse, President of the Royal Society, said: “We have enough evidence to warrant action being taken on climate change; it is now time for the public debate to move forward to discuss what we can do to limit the impact on our lives and those of future generations.”

NAS President Ralph J. Cicerone said: “As two of the world’s leading scientific bodies, we feel a responsibility to evaluate and explain what is known about climate change, at least the physical side of it, to concerned citizens, educators, decision makers and leaders, and to advance public dialogue about how to respond to the threats of climate change.”

Carbon dioxide (CO2) has risen to levels not seen for at least 800,000 years, and observational records dating back to the mid-19th century show a clear, long-term warming trend.

The publication explains that measurements that distinguish between the different forms of carbon in the atmosphere provide clear evidence that the increased amount of CO2 comes primarily from the combustion of fossil fuels, and discusses why the warming that has occurred along with the increase in CO2 cannot be explained by natural causes such as variations in the Sun’s output.
