Are you happy with Abbott?

I was prepared to give Abbott the benefit of the doubt. I did want to see Abbott and Costello running the country, as that would have been amusing. But hey.

I am very worried that BP is such an avid supporter though. Can we be sure that Abbott is not an alien from outer space or made from peas - or maybe it's just a skin suit and if you unzip it you'll find Xi Jinping inside?
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Bunch of treasonous scoundrels but so are Labor. Ridiculous to be partisan when the choice is between Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Only the most one eyed partisan would consider this coterie of scoundrels are doing a good job. Nearly all the self entitled 'born to rulers' including PM Abbot were caught red handed rorting their expense accounts in what could only be described as an ominous start to a new administration. Threw Papua under a bus for the sake of our 'friends' in Indonesia. Turned what should have been a minor diplomatic scuffle about spying on Indonesia into a major event in what could only be described as diplomatic amateur hour. More amateur diplomacy by taking US side against China when no-one asked for or gave a shit about our opinion.

Trying to intimidate East Timor, who is seeking redress for our bugging their government offices during negotiations on the $40 billion Timor Sea oil and gas fields in 2004, not even for the benefit of Australia but for the benefit of Woodside Petroleum. I hope Downer is hauled before the Hague for the part he played in this grubby act by our nation. (Alexander Downer had become an advisor to Woodside Petroleum through his lobbying firm, Bespoke Approach.)

It's early days yet and there will be much more crony capitalism, corruption and incompetence to come.

1. It hasn't been the Labour Party since 1912, it's the Labor Party.
2. The Labor Party brought Australia through a time that sent most western countries into a tailspin. Hence all the debt, which isn't as much debt as most other western countries.
3. The only reason they had some funds to play with is because the previous government spent the entire time selling up national assets.
4. It looks increasingly likely that the Liberal Party will do pretty much the same for the remaining assets.
Oh dear.

I'm 53 years old, is that old fart? Although the last person who tried to pick my age gave me 37. :D
Old in a derogatory manner is generally espoused by the young, inexperienced and foolish.
No no one would fall into the category would they??

these 2 points are a load of crap. the mining sector carried us through the GFC, they were the revenue that rudd got to play with.

the asset sales you speak of went to paying off the LAST labor government debt.
We all know the mining sector has carried this country for years, unfortunately the socialists will say it was their illustrious leaders with their infinite wisdom.
Every miner working i hot, dusty, lonely conditions, paid for 10 malingering government workers having team building trips to the snow fields.
If they burnt in hell for an eternity it would be to good for them.
Stealing money from the people, and making more jobs for themselves and their cronies.
A true travesty.
Long live the socialist utopia.
