I mean from a Labor/Lib point of view. Me I preferred a minority party and maybe some of you wanted the Greens but who cares they'll never get in.

I've noticed he's taken on an understated and defensive way of talking. I like it.

I think one must understand neither government can do the right thing. Ie, land tax, remove NG, do all that Ken Henry type stuff. I think they both know that's the answer. They can only fiddle around the edges. The population and media is just too self entitled, ignorant and indebted.

We're only 3 months in but none the less I think he's going to knock this country for six.

Frank Castle is a liar and a criminal. He will often deliberately take people out of context and use straw man arguments.
Frank finally and unintentionally gives it up and admits he got where he is, primarily via dumb luck!

I am liberal supporter not a labour supporter, but am no fan of politicians, in saying that , I did love Johnny Howard, he had leadership and was a good leader, when he was in I felt that the country was being run by a more intelligent man than myself, but not anymore for the leaders that have followed him, including Abbott.I would rather have Abbott than Kevin or Julia any day of the week. I have been no fan of Abbott , and found his arrogant at times, but he has definately improved over the last year and has polished his routine.

Bring back little johhny, and thank you to all the brain dead morons out there that voted for labour and ousted johnny for than moron krudd and the redhead dope that followed, wtf were you people thinking ffs.IDIOTS :wak:

:lol I knew i'd find you early on in this thread.

I think it is way, way too early to tell.

The success of a Prime Minister has much more to do with the performance of the globalised economy, than the performance of policy.

It has nothing to do with what religion they adhere to, though Black Panther will tell you otherwise.

That's just as well considering you don't know that it's spelt "Labor" for the political party name, not "Labour"...... :re:

Re Abbot, I think they are doing OK, but it's too early to tell whether they are going to be a truly effective government yet. They also are stymied at the moment by the previous senate, menaing they can't do things they want like remove carbon / mining taxes etc, so we will have to wait until July '14 before we'll even see what they can follow through with I think. The budget is going to be interesting as well. :bl:

I am also a Liberal supporter at present but have also voted Labour at stat elections. If I think one side has better policies and leaders I vote for them. I am not stuck to any one party for my life time.

I do think Abbott will be a good PM. I like how he and the treasury are getting the public ready for large budget cuts, as we need it. It will take a number of years to undo the damage Labour did. Labour just kept spending more and more money, throwing huge amounts of money at wasteful programs. Look at education, despite a 40% increase to funding in 6 years education levels have gone down. More money does not solve the issue, its how you use the money that counts.

I do hope the Liberals hit welfare hard as it has grown to large. Get rid of billions worth of subsidies to medium and large companies for things like diesel fuel let alone the many others.

Abbott had a rough start with issues with Indonesia which happened during Labours term. He handled it well, the issue has now died down and will be handled quietly which is the best outcome. Until we get the next leak at least, I think the Indos went quiet once they knew South Korea and Japan were also spying on them let alone everyone else.

This budget mess is a result of Labour mismanagement. The boat people is the result of Labour tearing down policies which worked for years. How many died due to repealing Howards policies in the seas between Australia and Indonesia, perhaps thousands.

It will take more then one term to undo much of this damage, let alone the carbon tax. In 4 to 5 years we will know just how good Abbott is vs the previous Rudd/Gillard/Rudd Labour Governments. Hopefully he get the chance at two terms to show what he can do .
