Jennifer Duke: Am I overreacting to personal comments made on Australian Property Forum?; Should APF censor personal comments made about property industry members, or public figures?

I know tits n arse and generally not permitted in the main forum and generally I don't appreciate them, but I think it's time for a Mel post. Maybe a giant KFC breast fillet?
I won't be tempted Zaph. I'm convinced Newjez was going somewhere with his creampie comment which was hard enough. He is a very, very bad man :lol

What a complete crock of BS. Sticks and stones. The moment you upload a photo to the internet and make any publicly available statements then you're fair game.
The only reason there should be moderation is if things get out of control to the point it's the cause of turning people away from the forum itself.
I think that daves many comments in many threads did turn people away. It's quite noticeable that the better informed bloggers suddenly went quiet and stopped blogging. That's what happens when people get aggressive and their only contributions are personal insults and verbal abuse - that is all dave brought when he came, and that was his legacy.

He was a huge negative for this forum.

Any expressed market opinion is my own and is not to be taken as financial advice

Come back Dave!

Frank Castle is a liar and a criminal. He will often deliberately take people out of context and use straw man arguments.
Frank finally and unintentionally gives it up and admits he got where he is, primarily via dumb luck!

Property will be 50-70% off by 2016.

Peter, did you and Dave clash on MB? You seemed to have history before he started posting here. MB is not a site I use, so I wouldn't know. But it was a bit like a married couple at a party starting up an argument that obviously had begun at home.
Whenever you have an argument with someone, there comes a moment where you must ask yourself, whatever your political persuasion, 'am I the Nazi?'

Alex needs to moderate a little more like judge Judy.

No prior history. I haven't got a clue who dave is and nor do I care.

I think that Alex generally does a pretty good job.

It's a bit like being a football referee. Some one will be unhappy with the decision regardless of which way you award the point.

Shit Mel, I hope she hasn't visited the Lounge.
I can't wait until the retired public service association writes an article about me being disrespectful of their tastefully cultivated image!

You clearly have no idea at all about how social media works.
Thats right!

You need to get permission from Twitter, as the image she uploaded is their property.

Right?
WHAT WOULD EDDIE DO? MAAAATE!

Australian Property Forum is an economics and finance forum dedicated to discussion of Australian and global real estate markets and macroeconomics, including house prices, housing affordability, and the likelihood of a property crash. Is there an Australian housing bubble? Will house prices crash, boom or stagnate? Is the Australian property market a pyramid scheme or Ponzi scheme? Can house prices really rise forever? These are the questions we address on Australian Property Forum, the premier real estate site for property bears, bulls, investors, and speculators. Members may also discuss matters related to finance, modern monetary theory (MMT), debt deflation, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum and Ripple, property investing, landlords, tenants, debt consolidation, reverse home equity loans, the housing shortage, negative gearing, capital gains tax, land tax and macro prudential regulation.

Forum Rules: The main forum may be used to discuss property, politics, economics and finance, precious metals, crypto currency, debt management, generational divides, climate change, sustainability, alternative energy, environmental topics, human rights or social justice issues, and other topics on a case by case basis. Topics unsuitable for the main forum may be discussed in the lounge. You agree you won't use this forum to post material that is illegal, private, defamatory, pornographic, excessively abusive or profane, threatening, or invasive of another forum member's privacy. Don't post NSFW content. Racist or ethnic slurs and homophobic comments aren't tolerated. Accusing forum members of serious crimes is not permitted. Accusations, attacks, abuse or threats, litigious or otherwise, directed against the forum or forum administrators aren't tolerated and will result in immediate suspension of your account for a number of days depending on the severity of the attack. No spamming or advertising in the main forum. Spamming includes repeating the same message over and over again within a short period of time. Don't post ALL CAPS thread titles. The Advertising and Promotion Subforum may be used to promote your Australian property related business or service. Active members of the forum who contribute regularly to main forum discussions may also include a link to their product or service in their signature block. Members are limited to one actively posting account each. A secondary account may be used solely for the purpose of maintaining a blog as long as that account no longer posts in threads. Any member who believes another member has violated these rules may report the offending post using the report button.
